Discussion Information Welcome to the second Global Vampire Community Discussion hosted by Voices of the Vampire Community (VVC). The transcript from tonight’s meeting is being logged and will be made publicly available. Unlike the transcripts of our Public Agenda VVC Meetings, these Global Vampire Community Discussions are generally not edited for grammatical errors or the discussion restructured to align in sequence for question and answer responses. Topics will be presented in the order they appear on the agenda. Please do not skip ahead and please do not suggest discussion of items not on the agenda until at the end of each major discussion topic. Feel free to speak your mind on any and all topics in a civil manner and offer any supporting information, links, or material as needed. II. Background & Introduction VVC was founded January 2006. The purpose of the Voices of the Vampire Community (VVC) is to develop friendly relations among the various Houses, Covens, Orders, organizations, and individual leaders of the vampire community; to encourage cooperation in solving community related problems and in promoting respect for the views, ideas, and opinions of others without seeking to establish a unifying or governing body; and to be a center for harmonizing the actions of groups in attaining these ends. – August 8, 2006 Voices Of The Vampire Community (VVC) does not assert itself as the exclusive organization of leaders or notable persons in the vampi(y)re community nor do we view ourselves or our actions as legislative or authoritarian. The members of the VVC are representative of multiple groups, Houses, Orders, paths, beliefs, and segments of the vampi(y)re community who meet and are able to put aside personal differences to work together to discuss, suggest, implement, and support projects, ideas, and other intellectual works that help to improve the overall community. For more information please visit our web site at: http://www.veritasvosliberabit.com/vvc.html We are available to answer questions through the community feedback form available at the site above. III. Discussion a. Discrimination: Have you or your friends and family been discriminated against or threatened because of your vampirism? If so, how have you coped and what advice would you give to others in similar situations? If not, what precautions do you take in your community involvement to prevent facing legal, professional, financial, or personal repercussions in your life? b. Open Vampire Community Discussion: Any topic you’d like to bring up for discussion is welcome. <Merticus> <<<<<< BEGIN DISCUSSION LOG >>>>>> <Merticus> Voices of the Vampire Community <Merticus> Global Vampire Community Discussion - August 2, 2009 <Merticus> Pre-Discussion Conversation Highlights <Merticus> ** We're at the 10 minute mark. • Television Reviews
Page 135 TELEVISION REVIEWS “We See Dead People”: Living TV’s M ost Haunted (2002 present) & Ghost Whisperer (2005 present) Although Living TV, a British satellite/cable channel, claims to provide what it calls “women oriented entertainment,” it more closely resembles a series of advertising slots for the services of numerous heroic investigatortypes. A regular viewer rapidly learns that should she find herself plagued by violent crime, she should seek out a brooding, sombrely dressed man, preferably one who shuns sunlight in case it singes his undead skin, who spends his days in a windowless laboratory, or who only removes his shades when dramatic emphasis requires it. Perhaps less puzzling is the parallel implication that, should one’s difficulties stem from the disgruntled dead, a young, goodlooking married woman with big eyes and acute hearing is best qualified for the job. Specifically, “reality”TV behemoth Most Haunted and Ghost Whisperer, a supernatural drama series in the TouchedByanAngel vein, both posit women as particularly susceptible to and suitable for what Edith Wharton referred to as “ghost feeling,” relying upon timehonoured associations between femininity, the uncanny and the rituals surrounding death. Via these domesticated Sibyls who guide us through the televisual underworld, uncovering longburied truths and taming unruly spirits, Living offers its viewers vicarious fantasies of impossible agency that do little to unsettle either the audience or traditional gender stereotypes. There is more to the choice of a female protagonist than audience identification, however. Any show that claims to produce genuine, regular paranormal phenomena leaves itself vulnerable to debunking efforts, and Most Haunted is no exception.

  • Vegan Transition Guide for Any Person Who May Need Help in Navigating the Vegan World
©Planet 9 “Go Vegan! Go Vegan! Go Vegan! But what the heck is Vegan? Why do we hear it so often and how the heck do I “Go Vegan?” So very often we see and hear those words along with the shocking claims associated with it. But nowhere can we find a school, a course, a class, a book, or film on how to actually Go Vegan. Interestingly, the Go Vegan command phrase can leave one with a sense of being judged, stigmatized, looked down upon, and helpless, so most people throw in the towel before ever even having the towel. Had I had access to a guide from those very same voices earlier in my life, I would have Gone Vegan a long time ago. I myself have watched countless family members, friends, and associates suffer from numerous ailments such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, fatty liver disease, high blood pressure, clogged arteries, obesity, anemia, anger, depression, skin problems, etc., and wondered Why? Once upon a time, I too was was unwell; and well on my way to those same countless ailments. As a suburban Marylander, I was raised on food full of animal fats, processed sugars, and chemicals, and not to mention absorbing the torture, fear and pain of those animals. I crafted this Vegan Transition Guide for any person who may need help in navigating the Vegan World. Moreover, I especially dedicate this guide to every person who is seeking positive change in his or her lifestyle. Additionally anyone who is suffering from a lifestyle issue, whether it be mental, physical or spiritual, or to anyone who is witnessing a friend, associate, or loved one suffer from the same, I dedicate my guide to you as well.
