Vom 18. bis 24. Januar 2016 finden die LAAX OPEN statt. Ein Happening für alle. Ein Snowboard Event mit dem Feinsten vom Feinsten. Ein Contest mit Snowboard Ikonen, Heroes und Newcomern. Eine logische Konsequenz der LAAX roots. Weltklasse Rider wie Iouri Podladtchikov, Danny Davis, Stale Sandbech, Tyler Nicholson, Anna Gasser, Christy Prior und Enni Rukajärvi haben ihre Teilnahme bei dem mit 500.000 US$ Preisgeld dotierten Contest zugesagt und garantieren ein hochkarätiges sportliches Ereignis. Vier Kontinente schon allein bei den ersten Fünf der Weltrangliste. Die Slopestyle Ladies Anna Gasser (AUT), Cheryl Maas (NED), Christy Prior (NZL), Enni Rukajärvi (FIN), Elena Könz (SUI) sind gespannt auf den neuen Parcours und schließlich zur Krönung seien die trickreichen Slopestyle Herren genannt mit Mark McMorris (CAN), Tyler Nicholson (CAN), Stale Sandbech (NOR), Yuki Kadono (JPN), Sebastien Toutant (CAN), Sven Thorgren (SWE). Und in der Art könnte die Aufzählung fortgesetzt werden. Denn zahlreiche Fahrer und Fahrerinnen, die aufgrund ihrer Position in der World Snowboarding Points List direkt in die Semi-Finals gesetzt sind, haben ihre Teilnahme ebenfalls bestätigt. Ihre sportlichen Highlights erleben die LAAX OPEN mit den Finals in der Halfpipe am Freitag, 22.01.2016, und im Slopestyle am Samstag, 23.01.2016. Das Schöne an den LAAX Events ist, es bleibt immer Zeit, selbst aktiv im Schnee zu sein. Rauf auf’s Board, von klein bis gross, von Beginner bis Könner. 3-6 jährige ab in den Burton Riglet Park im rocksresort. Alle anderen rein in den Burton Test Center am Crap Sogn Gion und mit den kostenfreien Boards aus der aktuellen Winterkollektion raus auf die Pisten.
