City of Monterey Park News Release www.MontereyPark.ca.gov Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Welcomes Classic Film Program with Actress Diane Baker and Film Historian Foster Hirsch Monterey Park, Calif. - July 20, 2017 - Actress Diane Baker will appear at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Classic Film Program on Sunday, July 23. The program includes the screening of an Alfred Hitchcock film classic starring Tippi Hedren, Sean Connery and Diane Baker. The film screening will start at 1 p.m. in the library’s Friends Room and will be followed by an interview with Baker moderated by Foster Hirsch. Hirsch is a film historian and Mark Keppel High School alumnus. Baker made her film debut in the 1959 film, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” In the film, directed by George Stevens, she played the role of Margot, the older sister of Anne. During the 1960s she co-starred with leading actors Gregory Peck, Walter Matthau and Maximilian Schell. In 1967, she made TV history, appearing in the two-part finale episodes of “The Fugitive” which became the most watched episodes in a television film series at the time. The fifth annual Classic Film Program is co-sponsored with the Historical Society of Monterey Park and the Friends of the Monterey Park Library.
