Dear parents and guardians,

Following on from the previous emails we have sent about the dance competition to students, we would like to offer some clarifications as to what is going to happen and how it is going to work.

As previously stated, the wonderful dance competition will be taking place on Wednesday 31st March 2021 at 6pm in the Schuman Hall. We ask any students who are willing to participate to send us an email before the 22nd March 2021 to allow us to have time to properly organise the evening. We are waiting for updates on government guidelines to see if we will be allowed a small socially distanced audience which will solely be consisted of students. If things stay as they are, only participants, judges and some staff will be present. Parents and others will be able to watch it from the comfort of their homes, as it will be privately live streamed on Youtube. The link will be sent out on Tuesday 30th March 2021 to those who have signed up to watch.

We would like to inform you that everyone participating as a dancer in the competition will be filmed and put on the private Europa School Youtube channel set up by S7. Access to watch the live streaming of the dance competition will be provided by a secure link sent to those who sign up to watch, to ensure our privacy. There will be no charge for watching the live stream, however donations will be greatly appreciated as this past year has put a stop to our exciting and traditional events. You may do so via GoFundMe. All money will go towards S7s events, such as Muck-Up Week, festivals and other amazing projects.

We have planned a rehearsal after school on Monday 29th March 2021 for all contestants, which will last until approximately 5:30 - 6pm. We ask all dancers to put their music on a USB stick and for the songs to be no longer than 3 minutes. If there is more than one dancer performing we will ask the dancers to do a choreography that maintains social distancing.

As mentioned previously, the safety of the school community is our top priority and we will take all measures necessary. Windows will be open, hand sanitiser will be distributed and face covering will be mandatory at all times, with the exception of when the dancers are performing. Our goal is to make this a safe but enjoyable experience for all students, as it is a core Europa School tradition.

There will also be a consent and risk assessment form for those participating in the dance competition which will be sent out soon.
