ETA SIGMA GAMMA Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG) is a national designed for both Health Science major and minor students in Health Education. ESG was first organized in 1967, with the National Office located in Muncie, and is associated with . With over 80 chapters nationwide, ​CSULB is the fifth ESG chapter and was established in 1970 as Gamma chapter.

Mission​:​ To elevate the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of professionally trained persons in the discipline of Health Education. It is built upon three pillars: teaching, research, and service.

Expectations of membership​: Each member of ESG is expected to support the goals of the honor society which promote health education, as well as uphold the three pillars of teaching, research, and service.

Criteria for membership​: ● Junior, Senior, or Graduate student ● HSC major, in good standing (2.7 GPA) ● Undergraduate students: no HSC grades less than a “C” ● Graduate students: no HSC grades less than a “B” ● Completed at least 1 full semester as a HSC major ● Active in HSC activities or CSULB activities and community involvement ● Recommended by HSC faculty (full-time faculty preferred)

1. Complete the application with HSC faculty recommendation.

2. Include additional information (at least 1 page) listed on the previous page.

3. Submit a $70.00 check made payable to ETA SIGMA GAMMA. (NO CASH)

Payment covers two-semesters (one year).

4. Include current resume.

5. Include unofficial transcripts.

6. Place all items in a sealed envelope and submit it to the current board members

during the general meeting or schedule a drop-off date through email
