WWW.DUNLOPTYRES.COM.AU MINI MX COMPETITION RADIAL TECHNICAL FITMENT TRIALS SPORTS ATV INFORMATION GUIDE DUNLOP MOTORCYCLE TYRES 5 RACE TO ROAD Dunlop has been involved with racing for almost as long as the tyre has been invented. Our involvement between racing and road riding is more than just an idea. It is the philosophy behind everything we do. Through our many years of racing involvement and success, Dunlops engineers have transferred the technological breakthroughs from the track to the road to ensure the tyres you ride on today are at the cutting edge of technology. Multi-Tread & N-Tec technology were both developed for the track. These race winning advances are now available in the tyres you use on the street today. DUNLOP TECHNOLOGY N-TEC TECHNOLOGY was fi rst created to meet the demands of Superbike racing. Due to a radical new carcass design Dunlop developed a race tyre that has dominated almost form of international open tyre rule road racing since its release. N-Tec features are : B Continuously wound carcass virtually elimates tyre growth at speed for excellent high speed stability B Cooler running temperatures maintain carcass integrity, prolong tread life and permits the use of higher-grip lateral traction compounds. B Softer feel in corner entry & improved cornering traction. B Larger contact patch provides a substantial increase in corner exit grip. B Remarkable consistency in lap times over the life of the tyre: fastes laps are commonly achieved in the last few laps of the race. MULTI TREAD (MT) TECHNOLOGY is our latest innovation. Years of success in global Superbike & Endurance racing have resulted in the development of a pioneering multi compound, which is transferred to many of our Sportmax street & track products. The central traction compound contacts the road when the motorcycle is upright. It uses a tougher cooler running compound that maintains straight-line stability, traction, braking and most importantly longer tread life. The lateral compound that contacts the road when the motorcycle is leaning over incorporates a rubber compound specifi cally developed to enhance grip at maximum lean angles. JOINTLESS BELT (JLB) CONSTRUCTION uses cord density engineering technologies to deliver more linear steering properties, improved rider feedback, and top class high-speed stability. Additional benefi ts include more subtle shock absorption for enhanced riding comfort on longer rides. CARCASS TENSION CONTROL SYSTEM Many of our front and rear tyre constructions use a Carcass Tension Control System C.T.C.S. (CTCS) to control carcass stress distribution. This optimises the tension in different CARCASS TENSION areas of the casing, improving cornering stability, straight-line traction and rider CONTROL SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY feedback so that you can ride with confi dence. B Allows different areas of the tyre to be designed with different tension levels to distribute forces in a more progressive way. B Controls stress distribution to provide an optimised contact area at different lean angles. B Acheives better control without the use of additional components, thus reducing weight. B Improves suspension characterists, reducing steering effort and improving rider feedback. PREMIUM HARLEY OE/REPLACEMENT SCOOTER/ MINI CLASSIC/VINTAGE ROAD RACE DUAL SPORT / MX/ENDURO 6 STREET TYRES DAVIDSON TYRES BIKE RACING ROAD TRAIL SPORTMAX® SPORTSMART SPORT/TRACKDAY Imagine you’ve been given the chance to design your own sports tyre. What features would it have? Race quality grip? Wet – roads predictability? Touring mileage? How about all three features in one tyre? That’s exactly what Dunlop achieved in its dynamic new SportSmart. B Superb performance on the road or track or touring, the new SportSmart will fulfi ll all riders needs. B Stunning wet weather performance for HyperSport & SuperSport machines, the SportSmart will provide a high level of confi dence whatever the road conditions. B N-Tec construction acts as a mechanical grip booster at low infl ation pressure for track days: standard pressure for normal road use, lower pressure for track day use. B MultiTread layout front and rear is based on the highly successful D211 GP race tyre. B Superior class mileage, as proven by DEKRA in independent European tests.
