Wayshowing assists wayfinding. Good wayshowing is user-centered: It is based on a deep understanding of wayfinding: how we intuitively orientate and navigate in unknown territory. As point of departure, this workshop discusses the strategies we all use when trying to find our way. Then it introduces the principle of least effort and shows the eight steps process of working with a wayshowing project. The workshop deals thoroughly with the means available for wayshowing including environment, pre-visit information, signage, maps, kiosks, and help desks. PARTICIPANTS' REVIEWS "[The workshop is] extremely structured and the presentation is well prepared." "It exceeded my expectations and the practical exercises were very useful."
