Preface I stubled across this PDF file a while back and thought it would be an excellent bonus to my comic book collecting ebook. This is a copy of the comic book that actually started it all for Superheroes. Action Comics #1, the first appearance of Superman came out in 1938. While the authors, a couple of teens Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster didn’t make much on it back then, for those who have one of the few copies left in existence (I have heard, less than 100) now, this comic book is worth a million dollars or more. 2010 became the year of the million dollar comic book. In February an 8.0 (Very Fine) copy sold for one million dollars. In March an 8.5 (Very Fine +) copy sold for 1.5 million dollars. Boy, how would it be to have that kind of disposable income! While this PDF file only contains a copy of the original Superman content, there was actually several more stories featured in the comic book itself. The stories therein were: "Superman" (pp. 1–13) by Siegel and Shuster. "Chuck Dawson" (pp. 14–19) by H. Fleming. "Zatara Master Magician" (pp. 20–31) by Fred Guardineer. "South Sea Strategy" (text feature, pp. 32–33) by Captain Frank Thomas. "Sticky-Mitt Stimson" (pp. 34–37) by Alger. "The Adventures of Marco Polo" (pp. 38–41) by Sven Elven. '"Pep" Morgan' (pp. 42–45) by Fred Guardineer. "Scoop Scanlon Five Star Reporter" (pp. 46–51) by Will Ely. "Tex Thompson" (pp. 52–63) by Bernard Baily. "Stardust" (p. 64) by "The Star-Gazer". "Odds 'N Ends" (inside back cover) by "Moldoff" (Sheldon Moldoff). And if you would like to read the rest of these stories in HTML format, then check out this link: http://xroads.virginia.edu/~ug02/yeung/actioncomics/cover.html But I do hope you enjoy having an electronic copy of the great grandfather, so to speak, of all American superheroes on your own hard drive.
