Celje and Constanta have signed some strong players and can rely on their home crowd support, which is why it will be difficult for Sävehof to repeat last season’s feat when they won the qualification tournament and then finished third place in the group.

Istniejące źródła wskazują, że piłka ręczna w swej obecnej formie jest pochodzenia duńskiego, mimo że do wprowadzenia tej dyscypliny sportu przyznają się jeszcze dwa kraje – Niemcy i była Czechosłowacja. Duńska encyklopedia „ Athenes Lexikon „ podaje że na przełomie XIX i XX wieku piłka ręczna była propagowana przez szkołę gimnastyczną Oldrup. W 1898 roku nauczyciel Holger Nielsen wprowadził na boisko z dwoma bramkami grę biegową, w której uczestniczyło 14 osób podzielonych na dwie grupy.
