Russian Tunneling Association is a public association , created in 1990 . The Association includes 72 organizations.

The main task of the Russian Tunneling Association is the full assistance to:

• The introduction at practice of design and construction of underground facilities, new Technologies, designs and materials; • Improvement the efficiency and quality of construction of underground facilities; • providing safety during construction and operation of underground facilities; • Implementation of an integrated approach to the development of large cities’ underground space.

To solve these tasks Russian Tunneling Association regularly participates in the organization of exhibitions of underground construction problems, arranges conferences, seminars, symposiums and other events, directed to distribute the advanced domestic and foreign experience in underground construction, uses other modern forms of scientific and technical information distribution, cooperates with educational institutions on matters of training underground construction specialists.

To exchange experience in underground construction it organizes business trips for Russian specialists in foreign countries.
