PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Associate, October 2000 to October 2001, International Law Firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, New York, United States of America; Consultant and Research Associate, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India, October 1997 to July 1998, on a research project relating to prison reforms and submitted a report entitled “Standards of Prison Care” (225 pages) to the NHRC in July 1998. VII. Awarded the James Souverine Gallo’ 27 Memorial Scholarship by the Committee on General Scholarships, Harvard University to pursue the LL.M. program at Harvard Law School (1999-2000). 3. Awarded the Rhodes Scholarship in December 1997 (all expenses covered, including return airfare; University and college fees and living expenses for up to three years) by the Rhodes Trust to study at the University of Oxford. 4. Received the 'Certificate of Merit' for outstanding contribution to the Constitutional Law Society and Environmental Law Society, Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi during the year 1996-97. 5. Strategic Development Grant (SDG) from the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China to pursue research on the theme: “Human Rights and Development”. The research grant of HK$30,000 was awarded in October 2004 to pursue research from October 2004 to June 2005. (Sole Investigator) 3. Start-Up Grant from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China to pursue research on the theme: “Terrorism and Human Rights: Balancing National Security Concerns and Civil Liberties in Hong Kong, Japan, and India”. The research grant of HK$99,958.75 was awarded in October 2004 to pursue research from October 2004 to May 2006. (Sole Investigator) 4. CityU Strategic Research Grant for Fundable CERG (SRG-Fd) from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China to do research on the theme: “Sexual Harassment in Hong Kong, Mainland China and India: Protection and Promotion of Human Rights through Tortious Remedies?”.
