12 COOPERATIVE EDUCATION Cooperative Education (Co-op) is a partnership between Lane Community College, the business community, and Lane students. Students earn credit and a grade while working full-time or part-time in

COOPERATIVE EDUCATION positions related to their careers and academic goals.

More than 800 employers participate in Lane’s Cooperative Education program each year. This has helped Lane become a national leader in Cooperative Education and places it among the largest Cooperative Education programs in the nation.

DID YOU KNOW LANE COORDINATES 2,000 STUDENT INTERNSHIPS ANNUALLY 13 JOHANNA CLEMENTE-MCNUTT LIFE AT LANE CO-OP = WORK EXPERIENCE Through Lane’s Co-op program, Johanna received hands-on work experience as a graphic design intern for a local public relations and marketing firm. Her Co-op experience will help her achieve her dream of becoming a marketing coordinator for a local nonprofit. Johanna moved to the United States from The Dominican Republic when she was 29 years old. Although she had worked previously in advertising and marketing, she struggled with the language barrier in her new country. Johanna decided to enroll at Lane to learn English so she could pursue her dream of returning to her original career. “My confidence with the language has grown significantly since I started at Lane,” said Johanna. “The counselors and teachers are really supportive and helped me through my journey.” 14 DID YOU KNOW LANE HAS LANE ATHLETICS 200+ STUDENT ATHLETES

15 GET YOUR GAME ON! Lane offers 10 collegiate athletic teams that compete in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC). The Lane Titan teams have won a total of 23 NWAC Championships, 76 Regional Championships, and three NJCAA Championships. Our coaches actively recruit student athletes to compete for Titan teams. Tuition waivers may be awarded to deserving individuals. Walk-ons are welcome and should contact the head coach of the sport they are interested in for further information. The coaching staff assists student athletes in transferring to four-year colleges and universities. Some students continue competing after they graduate from Lane.
