    IPRPD International Journal of Arts, Humanities & Social Science ISSN 2693-2547 (Print), 2693-2555 (Online) Volume 02; Issue no 06: June 08, 2021 Prime Minister Suga, Gender Equality and Rapport Speech: A Study of Speech Style Shoji Azuma 1 1 Department of World Languages and Cultures, University of Utah, USA Abstract Issues related to gender equality have been widely and globally discussed in settings such as politics, education, healthcare and the workplace, among others. In Japan, the Japanese government has been working very hard to increase the number of women involved in Japanese politics, with minimal progress to date. The present prime minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga, has intentionally sought to bring attention to this issue. He has, for the first time, selected a female cabinet relations chief for his government. His appointment of a female to this post is unprecedented. Unfortunately, due to a recent ethical code violation by the newly appointed female appointee and role model of female leadership in Japan, he felt constrained to accept her resignation from the post. The present study explores Prime Minister Suga’s treatment of this gender-related issue by examining his personal interviews with the media and press reporters in his cabinet. The study finds that Suga falls short of adopting an emotive and rapport style of speech which in turn, fails to attract listeners’ and voters’ support. One particular focus has targeted the state of women in politics and government at the national and local levels.

Each publication has a set of rules, sometimes written, sometimes unwritten, that governs what that publication considers to be a truthful and faithful representation of images to the public. These rules cover a wide range of topics such as how a photographer should act while taking pictures, what he or she can and can’t photograph, and whether and how an image can be altered in the darkroom or on the computer.

    Ellies 2018 Finalists Announced New York, The New Yorker top list of National Magazine Award nominees; CNN’s Don Lemon to host annual awards lunch on March 13 NEW YORK, NY (February 1, 2018)—The American Society of Magazine Editors today published the list of finalists for the 2018 National Magazine Awards for Print and Digital Media. For the fifth year, the finalists were first announced in a 90-minute Twittercast. ASME will celebrate the 53rd presentation of the Ellies when each of the 104 finalists is honored at the annual awards lunch. The 2018 winners will be announced during a lunchtime presentation on Tuesday, March 13, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. The lunch will be hosted by Don Lemon, the anchor of “CNN Tonight With Don Lemon,” airing weeknights at 10. More than 500 magazine editors and publishers are expected to attend. The winners receive “Ellies,” the elephant-shaped statuettes that give the awards their name. The awards lunch will include the presentation of the Magazine Editors’ Hall of Fame Award to the founding editor of Metropolitan Home and Saveur, Dorothy Kalins. Danny Meyer, the chief executive officer of the Union Square Hospitality Group and founder of Shake Shack, will present the Hall of Fame Award to Kalins on behalf of ASME. The 2018 ASME Award for Fiction will also be presented to Michael Ray, the editor of Zoetrope: All-Story. The winners of the 2018 ASME Next Awards for Journalists Under 30 will be honored as well. He has requested public to follow health advices when visiting post offices and obtaining services.

    Photojournalism Telling the story pho·to·jour·nal·ism Photojournalism is a branch of journalism focused on using images to tell a story. the art or practice of communicating news by photographs, especially in magazines. What is a photojournalist? A journalist tells stories. A photographer takes pictures of nouns (people, places and things). A photojournalist takes the best of both and locks it into the most powerful medium available - frozen images. What does it take to be a great journalist? A great journalist cares about people and an ideal world. A great journalist can approach a topic as vast as the universe and make it simple and interesting to both Einstein and the new immigrant, who is trying to learn the language. Photography vs photojournalism what's the difference between photography and photojournalism? Photography vs photojournalism what's the difference between photography and photojournalism? VERBS What makes a photojournalist different from a photographer? Photographers take pictures of nouns (people, places and things). Photojournalists shoot action verbs ("kicks," "explodes," "cries," etc.). Photojournalists do shoot some nouns. These nouns can be standard photos of people (portraits), places (proposed zoning areas or construction sites) and things (name it). However, the nouns we seek still must tell a story. To tell a story you need… a sentence which needs a subject, a verb a direct object. News photos need the same construction. Photojournalists tell stories with their images. My review question is: What factors contribute to the representation of politically sensitive stories in the world’s media? This paper relates only to China, but might have implications for other countries where there is news censorship. It also only relates to newspaper reporting, where the choice of words is paramount, compared to media with audio and visual components. CRITICAL ANALYSIS NO. 2 2 What type of literature is this? (E.g. theoretical, research, practice, policy? Are there links with other types of literature?) This is research literature because it reports a systematic investigation of how certain practices in journalism affect the story that is told. It is not practice litera- ture because the paper does not aim to make recommendations for good prac- tice, only to describe practice without making claims about what is good and bad. 3. What sort of intellectual project for study is being undertaken? a) How clear is it which project the authors are undertaking? (E.g. knowledge-for-understanding, knowledge-for-critical evaluation, knowledge-for-action, instrumentalism, reflexive action?)
