IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL INFORMATION August 5, 2015 Dear Ferrari Client, We wanted to inform you that you will be receiving a letter from Ferrari North America, Inc. shortly concerning a recall on your 2015 Ferrari vehicle. Ferrari has decided that certain Model Year 2015 Ferrari 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, California T, FF, F12 Berlinetta and LaFerrari vehicles may have a Driver’s Side Air Bag Module that could possibly deploy in a rotated orientation due to a Driver’s Side Air Bag Module that was an improperly assembled. We want to assure you that your safety is our priority, and we are committed to correcting this condition in your vehicle. Your vehicle may have been fitted with a Driver’s Side Air Bag Module that was improperly assembled by the Air Bag supplier. This is due to a combination of insufficient gluing of the leather skin of the Driver’s Air Bag module cover to the plastic base and improperly rotated orientation of the cushion during the manufacturing process. This safety defect could increase the risk of occupant injuries or death in the event of a front or rear collision. Ferrari will of course repair your vehicle free of charge. The repair involves replacing the Driver’s Side Air Bag Module. When you receive your letter, please contact your local authorized Ferrari dealer and make an appointment to have this repair performed. The time needed for this repair is estimated to be 1 hour; however, your dealer may need to keep your vehicle for a longer period of time due to scheduling needs at the dealership.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: James Hallinan January 24, 2017 (505) 660-2216 Attorney General Balderas Sues Takata & 15 Automakers over Dangerous Airbags To date, known Takata airbag IR incidents have injured over 180 people and killed at least 11 in the United States alone Santa Fe, NM – Today, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that he filed a lawsuit this week against Japanese airbag manufacturer Takata and 15 automakers over dangerous and defective airbags that function as fragmentation grenades. Hundreds of thousands of which were installed in cars sold or offered for sale in the State of New Mexico. The lawsuit was filed in the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and it names Takata, Honda, Ford, Toyota, BMW, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, FCA, Volkswagen, Audi, Ferrari, General Motors, Jaguar, and Mercedes-Benz. Attorney General Balderas alleges that the parties knew about, and misrepresented, the existence and extent of the defective airbags, and tried to conceal the defect until the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Congress exposed the full extent of the defective airbags. “In New Mexico, no child should ever be put in danger so international corporations can reap enormous profits,” Attorney General Balderas said. “New Mexico families’ health and safety have been put at dangerous risk by Takata and the automakers, and we will hold them accountable. Corporations who harm New Mexicans will pay for their actions no matter their size or location around the world.” Takata’s airbag systems are installed in millions of vehicles, including vehicles manufactured by the defendant automakers.

Ferrari had discovered long ago that providing optimum balance in a front-engined sports car necessitated the use of a rear transaxle, and the 550 Maranello's came with six speeds feeding power through a limited slip differential. The power train was housed in a tubular steel chassis, to which was attached aluminium panels, while the all-independent suspension incorporated dual-mode damping, changeable by the driver, and was controlled by speed-sensitive power steering.
