Antecedentes Generales Planta trepadora de tallo delgado; hojas linear-lanceoladas de 3-3,5 cm de largo por 2-3 mm ancho; inflorescencias terminales poco densas, con flores de 6 tépalos rosados con ápice verdoso, de unos 2 cm de largo. Fruto cápsula ovoide. Género sudamericano con 3 especies en Chile, 2 de ellas en la región andina de la Región de Tarapacá, compartidas con Perú y Bolivia y la tercera endémica de la zona central de Chile. Durante varios años se conoció como B.engleriana en Chile y es de distribución geográfica reducida, fragmentada y aislada de las poblaciones de los países vecinos. Distribución geográfica (extensión de la presencia) Planta nativa de las regiones andinas de Perú, Bolivia y Chile. -
