In his tenure, DG has led the Bruins to a Scenic West Athlet- ic Conference (SWAC) Championship, two Region 18 Championships and two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Top 20 finishes. Nelson has coached the Bruins to the best record in school history and best ever winning percentage . With Nelson as head coach, 124 of his players have moved on to compete and study at four-year institutions, with 27 Bruins joining the professional baseball ranks--one even moving on to a Major League Baseball World Se- ries team . Assistant Coach Kelton Caldwell Last season, Baseball ended their season 36-18 overall and 21-10 in conference making a big late sea- son push . Bruins fought their way through the Region The Nelson File 18 Tournament ending as the No . 3 team in the SWAC .
