CWFL Results and Scorers Saturday 3rd September 2016

Higher Bebington Kelma reclaimed top spot in the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division this week with a fine 4-1 win over Newton Athletic. Steve Davison, Ben Keirman, Mark Lawler and Simon Tierney were all on the mark with Mark Moorefield replying for Newton. Ian Bennett, Dale Atherton, Kevin Oates and Mike Parnell were the marksmen for Birkenhead Town as they move into second place after beating Town Reserves 4-1. Luke Williams hit the consolation for Ellesmere Port. Blacon Youth and MBNA took a share of the points after their game finished 2-2. MBNA took the lead twice during the game with Paul Jones hitting a brace but Blacon kept coming back with Aaron Stokoe and Joe Tuner replying. At a rain soaked Dog Lane Kelsall and Lodge Bar also had to settle for a point each with their game ending 3-3. Neil Astbury, Thomas Christopher and Rich Edwards had fired Kelsall into a 3-1 halftime lead but second half goals from Joe Yates and James McIntosh, added to a Luke Williams first half effort, meant the game ended level. Shaftesbury Youth entertained Chester Nomads III and came away 4-2 winners after goals by Jon McGra 2, James Osbyrne and Lewis Trodden cancelled out efforts from John Roberts and Matty Petts for Nomads.

Franklyn’s are now 5 points clear at the top of the CWFL Olympic Trophies Division One after delivering a convincing 6-1 defeat to FC UBER. Colin Singleton lead the way with 4 and Nana Eneh followed up with 2. Luke Chard hit the UBER goal. Hoole Rangers move into second after securing a 3-1 away win at Elton Athletic. Vidmantis Sulcas had put Elton into the lead but goals from Alex Hutchison, Mark Brown and Adam Roper gave Hoole the spoils. Josh Forster hit a hat trick for AFC ESSAR in their 6-0 win over Clubbies. Dean Rattcliffe 2 and Simon Whelan added the others. In an end-to-end game Cestrian Alex ran out winners by the odd goal in 9 over Ellesmere Port FC Reserves. Mark Blake 3, Adi Gough and Nial Peaker secured the points for Cestrian in this thriller with the Port replies courtesy of Rob Horgan, Kyle Parry, Graeme Milne and Tom Bolton. Whitby Athletic secured their first point of the season with a 1-1 home draw with Eastham Athletic. Tom Williams had put Whitby in fornt in the first half with Ryan Edwards hitting the equaliser for Eastham shortly after. New Ferry Rangers returned to winning ways, registering an 8-3 win at home to Nomads III. Neston were leading 1-0 at halftime but second half goals from Laurence Whelan 2, Ryan Christian, Chris Carress, Sam Price, Lee Doyle, Liam Crofts and Danny Hamill gave them the win. Alex Boyd, Ben Pearson and Craig Davidson were the Neston scorers.

Sutton Athletic have made it 5 straight wins in their debut season in the CWFL Link Up Division Two. Elton Rigger were their latest victims losing 11-1. Carl Rickson hit the Rigger consolation with the Sutton winners coming from Pete Barnett 4, Dan Higginson 2, Mike Urmston, Brad O’Donnell, Bobby Hill, Jack Proudfoot and an own goal. Blacon Youth travelled to Hoole Youth and returned triumphant after a fine 10-1 away win. Ellis Moore and Harley Bennion both bagged a hat trick with Kieran Ball 2, Shaun Arathoon and Jacob Price also netting. Craig Hyden hit the Hoole consolation. Athletic also recorded a double figure score line after the prolific duo of Steve Rothwell 5, and Andy Merner 3 combined once again to record an 11-3 win over Chester Argyle. Liam Gerrard, Louis Armitage and Gary Whelan were the other Overpool scorers with the Argyle goals coming from Jacob Evans 2 and Can Black. Upton Rangers left their debut in the CWFL somewhat shell shocked after being on the wrong end of a 12-0 score line at the hands of local rivals Upton JFC. Danny Evans 4, Callum Berry 3, Tom Berry 3, Andy Jones and Dave Kamperman were the JFC marksmen. Carl McLeod hit a brace for St Saviours but it was not enough as they went down 3-2 away to Orange Athletic who had John Heaton (Pen), Tom Wilkinson and Dave Jacks on target. In the days final game Peter Macateer hit home for AFC Quays as they went 3-1 down at the hands of Crossway. Jason Day 2 and Josh Turner were the Crossway scorers.
