Hilton HHonors Skate America is the first of six events in the the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series 2014/2015. Skaters compete for points towards the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and a prize money of US $ 180,000 per individual event of the Grand Prix. Yuko Kavaguti/Alexander Smirnov (RUS) take Pairs Short Program Russia’s Yuko Kavaguti/Alexander Smirnov took the lead in the Pairs Short Program. Cheng Peng/Hao Zhang of China placed second and Haven Denney/Brandon Frazier (USA) are currently ranked third. Performing to “Meditation” from “Thais”, Kavaguti/Smirnov produced a triple toe, triple twist, throw triple loop and picked up a level four for the twist, lift, footwork, death spiral and side by side spin. With 69.16 points, the 2010 European Champion set a new seasons best for themselves. “We are so, so happy to be back here in competition, so we were very excited today”, Kavaguti said. "Last season we had a (free) program that we really loved, so to finish the season without showing it made us very sad.

    U.S. FIGURE SKATING ATHLETE SELECTION PROCEDURES 2022 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES AUGUST 18, 2020 AMENDED JULY 20, 2021 1. SELECTION SYSTEM 1.1. Provide the minimum eligibility requirements for an athlete to be considered for selection to the Team: 1.1.1. Nationality/Passport requirements: Athlete must be a national of the United States at the time of nomination. Athlete must hold a valid U.S. passport that will not expire for six months after the conclusion of the Games. 1.1.2. Minimum International Olympic Committee (IOC) standards for participation: Any competitor in the Olympic Games must be a national of the country of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) which is entering such competitor. For additional information regarding an athlete who is a national of two or more countries, has changed his or her nationality or acquired a new nationality, refer to the Olympic Charter (Rule 41). 1.1.3. Minimum International Skating Union (ISU) standards for participation: The complete ISU Qualification System for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games is found at www.isu.org/figure-skating/events/olympic-winter-games/fsk- beijing-2022.     CHIPS 1 SM Winter 2011 Celebrating 2011! President’s Letter Dear Members, Since the last Newsletter there have been many developments in the growth of The Skating Club of Boston, its programs and skaters. We have been awarded a three year contract by the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department to manage the Boston Common Frog Pond. We have been in the process of evaluating the Frog Pond operation since opening day in order that this facility, as an outreach of The Skating Club of Boston, is operated to our standards. To that end, changes have been made in the management structure to better achieve those goals. In November 2010 we hired an Executive Director to facilitate the Management of the club programs and at this time we have accom- plished a great deal with his assistance. Doug Zeghibe, Executive Director, has implemented the changes necessary at Frog Pond, met the Executive Committee and Board of Governors, had meetings with the many programs and event Chairs with great success and enthusi- asm. We are developing a management structure for the club that will in the final configuration serve the membership better, facilitate the growth of our programs and allow for the long term success of The Skating Club of Boston.     2020 ADULT QUALIFYING COMPETITION SEASON TECHNICAL ANNOUNCEMENT GENERAL The 2020 U.S. Figure Skating adult qualifying competition season consists of four events, including three qualifying events (adult sectional championships) and the 2020 U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships. All four events are sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and conducted according to the 2019-2020 U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook with changes and clarifications as posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website and this announcement. Compliance with these rules as updated or amended is the responsibility of the participants. U.S. Figure Skating reserves the right to incorporate revisions to the international judging system (IJS) made by the ISU. Adult sectional championships and U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships events are open only to current members of U.S. Figure Skating who meet the eligibility requirements in U.S. Figure Skating rule 2210, all age and test requirements pertaining to the event they are entering, and the citizen and residency requirements as stated in rule 2240. Non-U.S. citizens who have already received a letter of permission from the Chair of the Competitions Committee and were accepted to compete in the U.S. Figure Skating qualifying system are eligible to register. All other non-U.S. citizens seeking eligibility must meet the requirements set forth in rule 2240 and rule 2212.
