PINELLAS NCII CHAPTER ELECTIONS

The chapter's Nominating Committee has announced a slate of candidates to run for chapter office for the 1987-1988 term. The nominees and the office they have been nominated for are: Linda Stoller - presi­ dent; Bev Jester - vice president; Cheryl Dejonge secretary; and Dorothy Hill - treasurer.

The election will be held at the program meeting May 20.

The May program meeting promises to be an exciting one~

First, JOin us for a potluck dinner (begins at 7 p.). Then, following our dinner, we will elect officers for the 1987-1988 term, hear a "State of Pinellas NOW" address by our new ly elected president and, to top the evening off, watch a video of National NOW's 20th Anniversary Celebration which was taped last December at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles.

National NOW describes the video as a "star-filled show which celebrates the victories, mourns the defeats, inspires for the future and highlights the great, historic moments in NOW's history."

The theme of this year's conference, which is being held at the Safety Harbor Spa ln Safety Harbor, is "Feminism as a Political Philosophy."

The conference will include workshops, a debate between Sonia Johnson and Molly Yard, a special Sunday breakfast with a guest speaker, and keynote speaker Billie Avery, founder and president of the National Black Women's Health Project.
