The driver of the semi said he swerved slightly to avoid deer in the road. The trailer started to fishtail and he lost control, driving through a ditch before ending up in a pond just off the highway. The driver, Hamza Gorod of Kansas City, Mo., was able to escape without injury. The freight in the trailer, mostly automotive parts, had to be unloaded before the trailer could be pulled from the pond.
