Readers should cross-reference the directory with the “Find a PR Firm” database on odwyerpr.com for the latest updates to listings as well as newly-added firms not found in the printed directory. The rankings of PR firms are intended to allow the reader to draw rough conclusions regarding growth year over year. Only firms that list clients are included in the rankings. Outside CPAs of the firms were asked to do a “special report” on the figures involved (see page 6 for complete rules). While not the same as a full audit, such a report, also referred to as an “agreed-upon-procedure,” carries the full endorsement of the CPA firms. The rankings should be regarded as an expression of the directory’s opinion, rather than a statement of fact. The rankings are only intended to be approximations in the directory’s judgment of a firm’s standing within the industry, and are not warranted to comply with any specific objective standards. The directory’s geographical index reflects the fact that many PR firms operate from multiple office locations. This sorting is carried over into the PR specialty index which identifies firms with skills in 25 areas such as beauty and fashion, food and beverage, healthcare, investor relations, professional services, sports and entertainment, technology, and travel. Multiple articles in this year’s directory address hiring a PR firm, ins and outs of PR firm mergers and acquisitions retirement planning for PR firm owners. The last section of the directory, an exclusive cross-client index, lets you look up a company and determine its outside PR counsel. The editors of the directory thank all the PR firms for their cooperation in providing data for the rankings as well as their listings of accounts, PR professionals, addresses, etc. We believe the availability of fuller information about the PR counseling industry will help clients who seek to employ firms and will help the industry to grow faster. As General Managers of Public Radio stations that serve millions of Americans in communities large and small, urban and rural and; As Producers of local, regional and national content aired by stations throughout the nation committed to telling the evolving story of America, its proud history, and its committed citizens; We are writing to express our grave concern regarding the House legislation that would prohibit stations from using any Federal funds to pay for national programming and would eliminate CPB’s Program Fund. By prohibiting the use of Federal funds in any national programming, and in particular, by eliminating the CPB Program Fund, millions of Americans will be deprived of critical national and international news, information and cultural programming that cannot be found elsewhere. Local public radio stations will no longer reliably provide the community information and context so necessary to cities and towns challenged by change and faltering economies. Institutions and projects at risk include: - Radio Bilingüe’s national program service, public radio’s principal source of Latino programming - Koahnik Public Media’ Native Voice 1, public radio’s principal source of Native American programming - Youth Media, the California-based media network of young audio and video producers and a key source of a youth voice in the mass media - The Public Insight Network, American Public media’s expanding project to bring citizen experts into public radio journalism - Independent producers who depend upon the Program Fund for money to support production of series such as StoryCorps and This I Believe - Independent organizations dedicated to innovation, training, and excellence in journalism such as the Public Radio Exchange and the Association of Independents in Radio.

  • TAL Distribution Press Release
This American Life Moves to Self-Distribute Program Partners with PRX to Deliver Episodes to Public Radio Stations May 28, 2014 – Chicago. Starting July 1, 2014, Chicago Public Media and Ira Glass will start independently distributing the public radio show This American Life to over 500 public radio stations. Episodes will be delivered to radio stations by PRX, The Public Radio Exchange. Since 1997, the show has been distributed by Public Radio International. “We’re excited and proud to be partners now with PRX,” said Glass. “They’ve been a huge innovative force in public radio, inventing technologies and projects to get people on the air who’d have a much harder time without them. They’re mission- driven, they’re super-capable and apparently they’re pretty good with computers.” “We are huge fans of This American Life and are thrilled to support their move to self-distribution on our platform,” said Jake Shapiro, CEO of PRX. “We’ve had the privilege of working closely with Ira and team to develop This American Life’s successful mobile apps, and are honored to expand our partnership to the flagship broadcast.” This American Life will take over other operations that were previously handled by PRI, including selling underwriting and marketing the show to stations. The marketing and station relations work will return to Marge Ostroushko, who did the job back before This American Life began distribution with PRI. This American Life, produced by Chicago Public Media and hosted by Ira Glass, is heard weekly by 2.2 million people over the radio.

  • Crowd Logistics - a New Concept in Realization of Logistics Services
CROWD LOGISTICS - A NEW CONCEPT IN REALIZATION OF LOGISTICS SERVICES Milena Jeremić a, Milan Andrejić a,* a University of Belgrade, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, Serbia Abstract: Crowd logistics is based on the idea of a network of connected members that realize the transport of goods in order to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the physical movement of goods, as well as their storage, delivery and use around the world. Crowd logistics relies on individuals who are connected with mobile technologies and focus is on small operations. The essence of crowd logistics is to create a connection between people who have certain logistics resources and those with logistics needs. The aim is to minimize inefficient use of resources and use free capacities. In this paper the solutions applied in practice have been explored. Among other things, a detailed overview of different types has been given. In this research 73 active services were identified and divided in three new groups defined in this paper. An increase in the number of new services on an annual level of about 10% was observed. Keywords: crowdsourcing, crowd logistics, delivery, network 1. INTRODUCTION During the past decade there have happened various changes in the ways that world functions, and significant part of that represent changes in the field of information technologies use. Nowadays, technologies are inevitable part of everyday life regardless of whether they are used by children, adults or elder. One of the areas that IT (information technologies) has significant impact on is certainly logistics. Technologies such as: blockchain, robotics, 3D printing, augmented reality etc.
