Job Description Overview The Clinical Informaticist will provide expertise specific to clinical informatics initiatives, primarily in the following topics:  Clinical content in the electronic record (EHR);  Research and data efforts;  Optimization of use of the EHR and health information technology (HIT); and  HIT innovations related to clinical care.

Essential Duties  Oversee development, optimization, and organization of all Alliance EHR clinical content.  Develop clinical content for user documentation in the EHR.  Integrate clinical content design with quality of care initiatives, data reporting performance measures, research initiatives, usability principles, operational improvement, and industry standards for clinical care.  Comprehensively test forms according to the Alliance content testing policy.  Consults on workflow assessment, analysis, and reengineering to improve center operations.  Train Alliance staff and end users on increasing usability and efficiency in use of the EHR.  Review clinical content forms for usability, efficiency, standardization, and programming issues.  Provide expertise to Alliance Health Centers, researchers, vendors, and all stakeholders on how to utilize the EHR and HIT to improve quality of care in current quality initiative industry trends, including but not limited to Meaningful Use, Patient‐Centered Medical Home, and Care Coordination / Accountable Care.  Offer clinical and nursing expertise to Alliance staff to increase knowledge of healthcare workflows and clinical decision‐making.  Express the mission, vision, values, and culture of the Alliance and participate in other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities  Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.  Ability to multi‐task and work on simultaneous projects.

 Ability to prioritize workload as appropriate to ensure on‐time project completion.  Knowledge of various application development methodologies, best practices, and support strategies.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional products, including Visio and PowerPoint.  Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.  Prior experience using the Visual Form Editor application.  Prior experience using GE Centricity® Practice Solution Electronic Medical Record.  Prior work experience in community healthcare organizations, HIT industry, and/or /healthcare organizations.

Minimum Requirements  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, , and/or a health‐related field.  Master’s degree in Health Informatics, , and/or a related field.

Work Experience  2‐3 years of experience in direct clinical care in a healthcare environment.  2‐3 years of experience in EHR application development/support, HIT industry work, and/or a related field.

Working Conditions:  General office setting, extensive computer and telephone desk work  May be required to lift, carry, bend, reach and stand with weights of up to 35 lbs  Will be working in a close multidisciplinary team environment  May be exposed to clinical situations during on site visits to client sites
