It is common knowledge that he was an Anglican, yet friendly and cooperative with Virginia Presbyterians. However, historians have yet to go beyond those general categories to the specific strains of Presbyterianism and Anglicanism which Henry uniquely harmonized into a unified belief system. Henry displayed a moderate, Latitudinarian, type of Anglicanism. Unlike many other Founders, his experiences with a specific strain of Presbyterianism confirmed and cooperated with these Anglican commitments. His Presbyterian influences could also be described as moderate, and latitudinarian in a more general sense. These religious strains worked to build a distinct religious outlook characterized by a respect for legitimate authority, whether civil, social, or religious. This study goes further to show the relevance of this distinct religious outlook for understanding Henry’s political stances. Henry’s sometimes seemingly erratic political principles cannot be understood in isolation from the wider context of his religious background. Uniquely harmonized

It was in his home that "Stonewall" Jackson lived when stationed in the Shenan doah Valley. I remember him saying of Jackson that before all else he was a Christian. That was the first business of his life; after that, a soldier. I spent an interesting hour with that delightful old man as he made men tion of leading personalities before, since, and at the time of the Civil War. When he learned that I had studied at Princeton, he spoke of Woodrow Wilson, then being mentioned as a candidate for the Governorship of New Jersey. He had known his father, the Reverend Joseph R. Wilson, D.     International Research in Early Childhood Education 5 Vol. 7, No. 1, 2016 Finding the “prism”: Understanding Vygotsky’s perezhivanie as an ontogenetic unit of child consciousness Michael Michell University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia Abstract The concept of perezhivanie, Vygotsky’s “last word” on psychology, has been among the most difficult of his theoretical constructs to define and operationalise in research. Drawing on close analysis of key texts, this article identifies and examines three defining attributes of perezhivanie found throughout Vygotsky’s works. The attributes are: perezhivanie as a prism of psychological development, as a unit of human consciousness, and as intelligent perception of one’s environment. In contrast with common understandings of perezhivanie as “emotional experience”, privileging it as affect, this article highlights the intellectual basis of perezhivanie in Vygotsky’s writings with particular reference to his notions of “generalised” and “intelligent perception”. The article argues that perezhivanie is best understood, psychologically, as an intellectual gestalt reflecting the intellectualisation of perception and, ontologically, as an apperceptual “organ of selection” of consciousness and personality “refracting” the child’s individual social situation of development. I abandoned the edit and give you the original text. Enjoy both the story and the John’s writing of it.] Agnes Lloyd Bennett was born at Neutral Bay in Sydney on 24 June 1872. She was educated at Abbotsleigh and Sydney Girls High Schools. She won a scholarship and went to Sydney University and wanted to study Medicine but was told that women could not become Doctors so she studied Science and graduated with Honours. She found that she would be welcome to study Medicine at Edinburgh University so she set sail for Scotland. In 1899 she graduated with Honours She now returned to Australia to find that Hospitals would not allow women to be Doctors there. She opened a practice in Darlinghurst but there was much prejudice against a female Doctor and she was forced to close the practice. She was accepted by women but some men would not allow their wives and daughters to see a woman Doctor.
