A Reading from the Letter of Paul to the Galatians. ٌ ر ِ ا ُ ا ل إ .Father, give your blessing أه ِ ، و رِك Brothers and Sisters: إ ، ا ، أ ُ ا َ ُ ونَ أن Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you َ ا ُ ِ ا َ ، أ َ َ نَ ا َ ؟ not listen to the law? For it is written that Abraham had ب ׃ آ نَ اه َ نِ ، وا ِ ٌ َ ا رِ َ ، two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the freeborn woman. The son of the slave woman was born ووا ِ ٌ ا ُ ة . أ ا ي ا رِ َ ، وُ ِ َ naturally, the son of the freeborn through a promise. Now ِ ا ، وأ ا ي ا ة ِ ُ ةِ ا . .this is an allegory. These women represent two covenants و ذ ِ َ ر ٌ ׃ رةُ وه َ ُ ُ نِ ، اً ;One was from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery ِ ءَ َ ِ ُ ُ دِ ِ، وه ه َ ؛ نّ ه َ َ this is Hagar. Hagar represents Sinai, a mountain in Ara ه ُ ءَ ا ي دِ ا َبِ، و ُ ا ِ ُ bia; it corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in أورَ َ َ ا ِ ، ا د ِ ه وأو دُه . أ slavery along with her children. But the Jerusalem above is أور َ ُ ا ُ ُ ة، وه أُ ؛ ب ׃ ,freeborn, and she is our mother. For it is written: “Rejoice you barren one who bore no children; break forth and ״ إ َ ، أ ُ ا ِ ُ ا َ ِ ْ؛ إ َ ِ shout, you who were not in labor; for more numerous are وا ُ ، أ ُ ا َ َ ؛ ن أو دَ the children of the deserted one than of her who has a hus ا رَةِ أآ ُ أو دِ ا ُ و ״ . أ أ ُ ، أ band.” Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of the ا ة، ُ أو دُُ ا َ ْ ِ ُ إ . و ، آ promise.
