Elementary student council members recently completed their first com- munity service project for the year. They wanted to clean up the parking lot loop and playground from all the trash and debris. After the leaves fall, it clogs up the drains. Student Council members cleaned up all the leaves in the loop for recycling and Mrs. Zuniga took it to the drop off site. Mrs. Zuniga has a shout out to ALL students at Malvern for making sure they do not leave trash laying around be- cause only a small bag of trash was collected on the clean up day. MALVERN KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION for 2021-2022

Kindergarten Registration and Screening for the 2021-2022 school year will be held at Malvern Elementary School on Thursday, April 8th and Friday, April 9th, 2021. Parents that have children who will be eligible for Kindergarten in the Fall of 2021 can call the Elementary office to make an appointment for screening (children must be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2021). Appointments can be made by calling 330-863-1355. Elementary office hours are 8 am until 3 pm. Children need to be with their parent(s) during this screening process. The screening will take ap- proximately one hour. Parents must bring the following paperwork with them to the screening in order to register their child: Child’s Birth Certificate, Child’s Social Se- curity Card, and Child’s Immunization Record, 2 forms providing proof of residency, driver’s license for picture I.D., and custody papers, if applicable.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS from the TRANSPORTATION OFFICE

 Students must be at their designated bus stop prior to the bus arrival! They need to allow 10 minutes either way of their scheduled stop times, for time fluctuations on the bus routes.

 Bundle Up! Students need to keep warm at the bus stop, but they also need to be able to see and hear what’s going on around them. When bundling up your child in the morning, make sure he or she still has an adequate line of sight and can hear traffic and other noises.

 Watch your step! When walking on snow covered or icy surfaces, watch where you are walking, take shorter, more deliberate steps or do the “penguin shuffle”.

 Hold On! The seemingly simple task of getting on and off the bus can be taken for granted. Always use the handrails.
