Comrade Lukose who came in touch with the party and thoughts of the Great Marxist thinker Comrade Shibdas Ghosh during the 1960s completely dedicated his life for building up the party in Kerala. In course of his struggle in building the party he not only dedicated himself to the cause of revolution but also undertook the struggle for identifying himself with the cause of class, revolution and party. He built up and guided innumerable struggles of the downtrodden people and working class of the entire state of Kerala and thus became most beloved to them. He was elected as the state secretary of the Kerala party during the first state conference held in 1988 and as a member of the Central Committee at the second Party Paying Last Tribute to the Departed Leader Congress of SUCI (Communist) held in 2009, as well as at the third Party Congress held in 2018. Subsequently he was also elected as a member of the Polit Bureau of the Party. The Central Committee recalls with deep respect the revolutionary character acquired by him and the services rendered by Comrade Lukose to the cause of the people and to the party even when he was afflicted with Parkinsonism which gradually started restricting his mobility as well as his speech, but which could never douse his spirit or thinking in which he upheld higher concepts of revolutionary ideology, communist morality, culture and values till his last breath. His death is not only a loss for exploited masses of the state of Kerala but for the entire country too. Surely his outstanding revolutionary struggle and dedication will remain a source of inspiration to all involved in building of revolutionary movement throughout the country. Red Salute Comrade C. K. Photograph: Paul Grover / Rex Features) Philosophy tends to be arid, more related to mathematics or dispatches from the courtroom than art, but some philosophy exhibits playfulness or poetic sensibility in relation to language or narrative form and some has even been speculative in a literary or imaginative sense. Jean Baudrillard, for one, coined the term “theory fiction” and speculated on scenarios for future real worlds that were more wild and improbable than science fiction. In his case, it was part of a quest to exacerbate the groundlessness of signs and meaning. But postmodern suspicion is not the only way in which philosophers have used the strategies of fiction to further their projects. Hegel’s great work Phenomenology of Spirit can be read as a vast novel in which the characters, avatars of the spirit, move progressively through the world and through history. Its French translator, Jean Hippolyte, called it a “philosophical novel”: in one section the characters of Lord and Bondsman struggle dramatically over questions of recognition. Nietzsche was a stylist and his Thus Spoke Zarathustra often appears in lists of top philosophers’ novels. It has a protagonist and a plot that resembles something like a bildungsroman, as the tragic teacher hero learns lessons in life through his failures.

The End of Life Assistance Bill committee is currently hearing evidence about the bill prior to a final version being voted on by MSPs. Danger of the bill John Deighan, the Church’s parliamentary officer in Scotland, was among those giving evidence to the committee on Tuesday and he wasted no time in spelling out the End of Life Assistance Bill’s dangers. “The hearing gave me specifically the opportu- nity to note the threat that these proposals have for the vulnerable, especially those who at present face various forms of abuse from family or car- ers,” he said. “It was also possible to explain the failure of safeguards to protect the vulnerable in Oregon and in the Netherlands. This document outlines good practice on the care and management of post-war public art, including regular maintenance and planned conservation work. It sets out the different ways that the best of our public art can be identified and protected and the statutory duties that relate to its ownership and care.     2020 The Winnats Pass Mystery Alan Sargeant Anarchism/Communism 8/28/2020 The Winnats Pass Mystery: The Death of Harry Fallows In the aftermath of a fractious year that had seen the much feared General Strike promise to set Britain ablaze with devastating flames of crisis and sedition, the national papers made the most of an unremarkable start to the New Year. The famous Winnats Pass in the craggy High Peaks of Derbyshire, a favourite rambling and cycling spot among Sheffield and Manchester city folk, had been the scene of a ‘sensational discovery’. The bodies of a young man and woman, who had been missing from their homes in Manchester since January 1st 1927, were found at dusk on Saturday 8th by 17-year old rambler Fred Bannister from Manchester. The victims of the tragedy were Harry Fallows of 28 Hinde Street in Moston, Manchester and 17 year-old Marjorie Coe Stewart of 44 Hinde Street. Incredibly, the story emerged just days before another missing persons’ story had been resolved. Glasgow-born activist Nancy Graham had disappeared from her home on the evening of Wednesday 5th. Her husband, a naval architect trained at John Brown & Co Ltd in Clydebank, had discovered his barely conscious wife a week later in the empty home of a Presbyterian minister in Upton near Liverpool. If the discovery of the bodies in Castleton hadn’t been linked to the Toplis ‘Grey Motor’ case, the story may well have missed the press columns entirely. The dead man was 26 year-old Harry Fallows, the former corporal in the RASC Vehicle Office at Bulford Military Base who just several years before had been charged with harbouring and maintaining the fugitive Percy Toplis — legendary leader of the mutiny at the Etaples Base Camp in France during the war 1.

The first part of the book, "Immigrants Past and Present," gives an account of the role played by a few of the migrant communities who came to Britain and settled before the end of World War II. The contributions they have made and the difficulties they have faced are outlined. The second part of the book, "The Contributions of Britain's Ethnic Minorities," focuses on the 50 years since the end of World War II through a selection of "snapshots" of key areas of society where immigration and ethnic diversity have enriched life in Britain. The final section, "Roots of the Future," emphasizes the importance of recognizing ethnic diversity in planning for Britain's future. A list of key dates in British history is included.
