Welcome back everyone, I wish you all a ‘Very Good New Year’.

In December, we had a beautiful P1 Nativity at Barclay , a live pantomime in school and the children had lots of fun, games and Scottish Country Dancing at their end of term parties. As always, the P7s had a great time at the Science Lectures at Boroughmuir High School.

Staff continued their training, on Wednesday 06 January, in French and German and I look forward to seeing and hearing the children further develop their language skills this term.

I’d like to say thank you to Mr Sean Stitt who leaves us at the end of January to take up a Principal Teacher position in East . Congratulations and well done Mr Stitt. Best of luck in your new post!

I am pleased to say we have appointed a new teacher for P7A and the paperwork to confirm this should all be in place next week.

Bruntsfield and Primary Schools share the Silver Medals from the ‘Hope Trust Trophy’ athletics competition at Meadowbank Sports Centre on Monday. Both schools narrowly missed first place by two points! Well done to Primary School who are this year’s Gold Medal winners.

Parent Consultation Meetings are on Tuesday 02 and Thursday 04 February 2016. As in previous years, teachers and pupils complete and share with you a combined ‘Mid Session Review’ and at the end of the session, teachers write the ‘End of Session Report’ which is shared in June.

Every two years we have the opportunity to complete a Parents and Carers survey on our school for the Children and Families Department. I shall send the survey monkey link to you for this, via Parent Mail, on Monday 01 February. There will be, as always, paper copies for anyone who would like one. If you could please complete this by Friday 12 February, it helps us, and the Council know the areas which are going well in Bruntsfield and across the city and next steps for development.

I hope the term starts well for all our children, however, if you have any concerns, queries, worries or suggestions, please let me know and I shall be happy to help.

Once again, a ‘Very Good New Year’ to you all.

Kind regards,

Carol Kyle Parent Consultations
