24 NEP-TIB Mount Kailash Trek-GRUP-C.P65 Nepal y Tibet Mount Kailash trek Os presentamos un viaje 24 días de duración que nos llevará al Monte Kailash, la "Joya de las Nieves", montaña sagrada para hindúes, budistas y bonpos. Nuestro itinerario comienza en Kathmandu, donde dispondremos de una jornada para visitar la capital de Nepal. La jornada siguiente nos trasladaremos a Lhasa en un espectacular vuelo por encima de la cordillera del Himalaya. En la capital tibetana pasaremos dos jornadas durante las cuales visitaremos los lugares más emblemáticos, como el Palacio de Potala, residencia del Dalai Lama hoy convertida en un museo por las autoridades de la República Popular China. Dejaremos Lhasa para trasladarnos por carretera a Gyantse y Shigatse, visitar los monasterios y estupas de estas poblaciones. A partir de este punto iniciaremos un recorrido en 4x4 por una pista que nos llevarán hacia nuestro objetivo, el Monte Kailash. Con sus 6.714 m no es una montaña especialmente alta para esta región, pero destaca por la cadena circundante ya que se encuentra totalmente sola. En esta región nacen cuatro de los mayores ríos de Asia: el Indo, el Brahmaputra, el Karnali y el Sutlej. En esta zona podremos contemplar unas fantásticas panorámicas de las montañas que forman la frontera natural entre el Tíbet y Nepal donde destacan el Everest (8.848 m), el Cho Oyu (8.201 m), el Sisha Pangma (8.046 m), etc.... Se trata pues de un sorprendente viaje que nos llevará a una región inhóspita, con paisajes acogedores, a los pies de la montaña más emblemática y sagrada. Después de desayunar iniciaremos las visitas a la ca- pital tibetana. Visitaremos el Palacio de Potala, resi- dencia de invierno del Dalai Lama. Es uno de los traba- jos arquitectónicos más importantes del Tíbet y la esen- cia de la cultura tibetana. Visitaremos también el Tem- plo de Jokhang, que fecha del siglo VII y que alberga piezas arquitectónicas de la dinastía Tang y estatuas del rey Songsten Gompo y de la princesa china Wencheng y la princesa Bhrikuti de Nepal. Explorare- mos el mercado de Barkhor, que hasta los años cin- cuenta fue un importante centro de comercio, con mer- cancías llegadas de toda la Asia Central. Alojamiento. DIA 06: LHASA Hoy dedicaremos la jornada a recorrer Lhasa y sus al- rededores. Nos trasladaremos por carretera hacia el Monasterio de Drepung, el más grande de todo el Tíbet, que pertenece a la secta Gelugpa. Este monasterio está lleno de reliquias históricas, escrituras budistas y piezas de arte. Continuaremos hacia el monasterio de Sera, situado en las faldas de una montaña al norte de Lhasa. Este monasterio pertenece a la secta Gelungpa y es uno de los tres grandes monasterios del Tíbet, siendo los otros Drepung y Ganden. Si el tiempo nos es favorable visitaremos Norbulingka, el palacio de DIA 03: kathmandu verano del Dalai Lama. Volveremos a Lhasa donde nos alojaremos. Para empezar a conocer la ciudad de Kathmandu y sus alrededores le recomendamos realizar las siguientes visi- tas. El Santuario de Pashupatinath es un lugar sagrado para los hinduistas, donde podremos observar algunas ceremonias o cremaciones. Este santuario se encuentra situado a orillas del río Bagmati. A poca distancia se pue- de visitar la estupa de Boudanath, lugar sagrado para los budistas. Es una estupa de 2.000 años de antigüedad y la más grande del valle. Alrededor de la estupa se ha edificado un número importante de monasterios lamaístas, ya que en esta zona vive una comunidad budista de sherpas y tibetanos exiliados. Otra atractiva visita, muy apropiada para la tarde, es el santuario de Swayanbhunath, al que acuden tanto hinduistas como budistas. Situado en un pequeño cerro próximo a Kathmandu, desde aquí podremos contemplar una espléndida panorámica de la capital. Para acabar esta jornada os recomendamos visi- tar la zona de Durbar Square, en la ciudad antigua, donde se encuentra el templo donde vive la "Kumari", diosa vi- viente de Kathmandu. Llegada a Saga (4280 m.) e instala- ción en nuestro campamento. DIA 11: SAGA - PARYANG Después del desayuno, continuaremos el itinerario que nos llevará a Paryang. Seguiremos por una serie de pistas desérticas hasta llegar a Paryang (4350 m.). Ins- talación en nuestro campamento. DIA 12: PARYANG - MAYUM LA DIA 08: GYANTSE-SHIGATSE Desayuno. The level of urbanization in Nepal remains low but the pace of urbanization has remained faster and is likely to remain so in the future. Only 17.1% of Nepal’s population resided in 58 designated urban areas according to the 2011 census. However, with the addition of 159 municipalities in 2014/15, 40% of Nepal’s population reside in 217 designated urban areas. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development includes 17 SDGs and 169 associated targets.
