    INTEGRATED NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN 2013 611th Air Support Group Alaska Installations U.S. AIR FORCE, 611th AIR SUPPORT GROUP, ALASKA 611th CIVIL ENGINEER SQUADRON, ASSESSMENT MANAGEMENT INTEGRATED NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN 2013 611th Air Support Group, Alaska Installations This revised Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) meets requirements of the Sikes Act (16 USC 670a et seq.) as amended and as approved in previous plans in 2007, 2008, and 2009 by the 611th Air Support Group Commander, the Alaska Regional Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game commissioner. Use and mission of the installations have not significantly changed since approval of the previous plans. The Short and Long Range Radar Sites and Eareckson Air Station INRMPs were approved for use in 2007; the King Salmon Airport INRMP was approved for use in 2008; and the Inactive Sites INRMP was approved for use in 2009. They will remain in use until replaced by the final version of this plan. The primary change in this revised INRMP is that of format to follow guidance provided in Air Force Instruction 32-7064. This INRMP also groups installations from the four previous plans into one document. Behler Director FY18 INTRODUCTION FY 2018 Annual Report The freedom and security of our nation depends on the lethality and readiness of our military. Our warfi ghters must be prepared for combat, equipped with secure, credible weapon systems, and trained to employ those systems eff ectively and decisively. As the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E), I ensure that our weapon systems are systematically tested across a range of operational conditions that warfi ghters are likely to encounter in combat. Establishing combat credibility through realistic testing gives warfi ghters the confi dence their weapons and equipment will work when they need them. I have been in this position for just over one year and, during this time, have informed 92 acquisition and 25 fi elding decisions for the Department. When I was appointed to this position, I committed to increasing collaboration between DOT&E and other agencies within the defense community. Looking back, I have been most impressed with the “spirit of cooperation” between OSD and the military Services. With an attitude of teamwork, we are working towards the ability to fi eld combat credible systems at the speed of relevance. During the past year, my offi ce collaborated with other OSD offi ces and the test and evaluation (T&E) community to increase combined approaches to testing programs.

    Reroofing the last frontier Rain Proof Roofing restores the roof on Eareckson Air Station's Hangar 6 in Alaska BY CHRYSTINE ELLE HANUS About 1,500 miles southwest of Anchorage, Alaska, at the western tip of the Aleutian Islands is Shemya Island. Only 2 miles wide and 4 miles long, the small island is owned by the U.S. government and under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as part of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. In 1943, the U.S. military established an air base on the island now known as Eareckson Air Station. Named for Col. William O. Eareckson, a squadron commander during World War II, in 1994, Eareckson Air Station was deactivated and now is operated by about 50 civilian contractors. The station currently serves as an early warning radar installation with a principal purpose of monitoring space and missile activities. Since 2002, the National Missile Defense program has been an active participant on the island. In 2014, a storm damaged Shemya Hangar 6 and its roof system required replacement. Rain Proof Roofing Co., Anchorage, was contracted to remove and replace the hangar's 44,000‐square‐foot roof system. Logistics Getting materials to Shemya Island is not an easy undertaking. All pedestrian transportation and material deliveries to the island are coordinated through one annual barge, a biweekly air freighter and a weekly commercial flight. On April 26, 2016, Rain Proof Roofing began its off‐site work. Through advanced preparation and coordination with material suppliers and the general contractor, Brice Environmental Services, an environmental remediation services company, Rain Proof Roofing procured and delivered material to the docks in Seattle by May 2 in time for the annual barge to deliver the material and equipment to Shemya Island.

With much at stake, the Act provides for unprecedented levels of transparency and accountability so that the public will be able to know how, when, and where tax dollars are being spent. Department of Defense (DoD) Implementation The Recovery Act includes approximately $7.4 billion in Defense-related appropriations, which accounts for less than 1 percent of the total $787 billion stimulus package signed on February 17, 2009, by President Obama. The Department intends to spend this funding with unprecedented full transparency and accountability.
