NOTICE OF ELECTION

Election of the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Police area

1. An election is to be held for a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Sussex Police Area.

2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the Sussex Police Area Returning Officer at Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BQ between the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

3. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Sussex Police Area Returning Officer, The Elections Office, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BQ on any day after the date of this notice, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, but no later than 4pm on Thursday 8 April 2021.

4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 6 May 2021. The hours of poll will be from 7am to 10pm.

5. A deposit of £5,000 must be paid for each candidate by the deadline for delivery of nominations either in legal tender (cash) or by UK banker’s draft. Payment may be made by electronic transfer - further details available on request from the Sussex Police Area Returning Officer.

6. Applications to register to vote at this election or to vote by post or proxy must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer based on the deadlines below:
