Still, health and wealth were given to the children of Israel even though it was not the prime purpose of their deliverance.

4 JANUARY 2017 THE EVANGELIST THE JIMMY SWAGGART PRICELESS CORNER We have set aside this corner of The Evangelist to show God’s Plan of Salvation. Psalm 18:2 — “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”

If that is desired, each believer could say that he resides in a fortress named Christ.

• Deliverer. The Lord is not only our rock and our fortress, but He is also our deliverer. Though David is speaking of deliverance from trials and tribulations, we can do the same. We must never forget that our greatest deliverance was from the bondage of sin, and we must never forget that our deliverance comes only through Calvary.

• Buckler. The Lord is not only our rock, our fortress, our deliverer, and our strength, but He is also our buckler, which refers to a shield—a shield that protects and a shield by which we can fight our enemies.

• Horn of my salvation. The Lord is not only our rock, our fortress, our deliverer, our strength, and our buckler, but He is also the horn of my salvation, which refers to dominion. We are no longer under the dominion of Satan, but now through Calvary, Christ is the one who has dominion over our lives.

• High tower. Let’s go through from beginning to the end as we get to this last description. Our Lord is our rock, fortress, deliverer, strength, buckler, the horn of my salvation, and He is also our high tower, which refers to a place of refuge and safety.

These great benefits are available to all who are followers of Christ; however, they are ours only as we understand the victory that was won for us at Calvary, and as long as our faith remains there.

It is imperative that we do so, for as the apostle Most preachers of the gospel have some knowledge regarding Paul said, “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the the Cross for salvation, and we thank God for that. What does it mean to preach the Message of the Cross? To Our focus should be on Jesus Christ, and Christ alone. The Lord called us to start a church in 2004 and though we are still relatively small in numbers, the Lord has also opened the doors for a Christian school and for an FM radio station, on which we broadcast programming and music from SBN, along with our own locally-originated programming.

To God be the glory, but oh how thankful we are also, not only I loved the Lord and knew to point people to Him, but I did not for salvation, but also for daily victory, which was taught to me know to emphasize, in my own personal faith nor in my witnessing through Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, and now for the privilege to others, that it is not only Christ and who He is, but also what of helping to carry that message to others.

Isaiah 40:31 — “But they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.”

Just as an eagle learns to fly and accomplish what it was created The greatest fulfillment of God’s purpose for Peter’s life and the to do, so God has a plan and a purpose for every person—a plan lives of all believers will be the rapture when they will be caught of salvation and victorious living. But, like Peter did at times, up to meet the Lord in the air (I Thess. 4:17). we all struggle between faith and unbelief to find and fulfill our destinies. Consider the following:

• Peter was reluctant to let down his net when Jesus told him to, but, at the word of Jesus, he did let it down and caught a large number of fish. When Jesus told Peter that if he would follow Him and make him a fisher of men, Peter left everything and followed.

• When Jesus came to His disciples in a storm by walking on the water, Peter asked Jesus to tell him to come to Him. When He did, Peter walked on the water until he took his eyes off of Jesus and began to sink. At his cry, Jesus lifted To help illustrate my point, consider the following poem titled Peter back up and they walked on the water back to the boat. “Born To Fly”:

• By revelation, Peter declared Jesus to be the Christ, the Son I was hatched as an eaglet in a big soft nest, and all I of the living God, but when he later rebuked Jesus for saying had to do was eat and rest. 44 JANUARY 2017 THE EVANGELIST DAVE SMITH

Suddenly, I got another real big surprise; He put me on his wing and up we did rise. At first I was scared but then what a joy, for to ride the wind was better than any toy. But suddenly he dropped me from his wing. I tumbled and fell, not able to do anything. I thought for sure I was going to die, so I wanted no more of being born to fly. Just before the ground I was going to hit, big wings swooped down so on them I could sit. But he took me again way up in the sky, and while others laughed, I could only cry. Finally, one time, as from his wing I dropped, the wind was a friend and the tumbling stopped. I flew through the air with a loud victory cry: This is my destiny, for I was born to fly. Certainly God has a tremendous life and future prepared for every person (I Cor. 2:9-10), but how many are taking advantage of these things?

Even though everyone is born to fly, how many are actually flying, or fulfilling the potential that God has made available to believers?
