2021SCC A5 V2.Pub SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTION BISLEY, LIGHTWATER & WEST END WARD THURSDAY 6TH MAY 2021 GRAHAM ALLEWAY The Best choice for Bisley, Lightwater and West End https://grahamalleway.co.uk/ Protect our Rural Village’s character. Fix our Roads and Footways. Redirect HGV through traffic to Motorways. Preserve our Quality of Life and the Village Environment. Residential Roads Speed Calming. You can only vote Community Infrastructure Levy must be spent in location for one candidate, taking development. Please choose Reduce Environmental Harm, increase Sustainability. Independent Χ I would like to ask for your vote to be your Bisley, Lightwater & West End Ward Councillor . My wife and I have lived in West End for the last 38 years, we have family and friends in all Villages. I am currently serving West End as a Parish Councillor in my 4th term, also represent Bisley & West End as Borough Ward Councillor, and Director of Surrey Association of Local Councils. It is very rewarding to contribute effectively in the community therefore ask for the opportunity to deliver more for BISLEY, LIGHTWATER & WEST END as your Ward Councillor. As an Independent I am free from political influence and only accountable to YOU. Contact [email protected] COMMUNITY INTERESTS COME FIRST BISLEY, LIGHTWATER & WEST END WARD — SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL Surrey and the South East is one of the most densely populated regions in Europe. It is one the biggest contributors to the exchequer, but has some of the poorest Highways in the UK. Billions are announced in infrastructure spending but our roads and footpaths remain in a 2nd world state. How do fair condition low use roads get resurfaced when major residential roads are left with serious defects, continually being patched up. Its been that way for too long. The nightmare of M3 Junction 3 is at last on the Highways England agenda to review after years of lobbying, I will be pushing for interim measures such as traffic light phasing, and then a filter lane for M3 southbound. The Environment and harm reduction is clearly a major concern, and our Ward has the land resource to promote sustainable agriculture with local food production, Eco friendly vertical farming, natural CO2 consuming landscapes and wildlife conservation. The Green Belt is a treasured asset and must be protected, once it’s gone it’s gone. You may be aware of the Governments plan to eradicate Borough Councils taking control of everything including local Planning under one Surrey Unitary Authority that will distil local control over local services. If elected to serve you I would oppose this plan and assert local control is the best way to serve your needs. As a Borough Councillor for Bisley and West End Ward I sit on the Borough Planning, Local Area, Performance Finance and Scrutiny, Committee's. I also sit in the Local Plan, Surrey Heath Villages working groups, and Chair the Surrey Heath Parking Group. My professional background is engineering mainly in the energy sector, with the last 3 years moving into consultancy for International Standards Organisation Certification of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Business Management Systems on a part time basis. This allows me to do the more important job of serving the Villages. If chosen to represent you on May 6th I will continue to aspire to the expectations of conduct as an Independent councillor dealing impartially with Village matters; only Independent Councillors can truly deliver this having no political party influencers. https://grahamalleway.co.uk/ 7 Principles of Public Life. Introduction The selection of route F1a+ has caused great concern and anger amongst the residents of Heronscourt and Colville Gardens and the Lightwater community. This concern is apparent from the very substantial numbers of Interested Party registrations that the Planning Inspectorate has received from Lightwater residents. More widely a number of national organisations and local representatives have also expressed their views which support the concerns and objections raised in this presentation. Whilst Esso appears to have followed its process for consultation to the letter, it has been flawed in two aspects which have caused the need for this submission and all of the other representations to the Planning Directorate.
