EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY GAME DAY PRODUCTION STAFF (Part-Time / Casual) The Scotiabank Centre, managed by Events East Group, is now inviting applications for the position of Game Day Production Staff. Scotiabank Centre is the largest multipurpose facility in Atlantic Canada and the hub for major events in Nova Scotia. We serve as the region's premier venue for sports and entertainment. Our facility is proudly home to the Halifax Mooseheads, the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, the Halifax Thunderbirds and the Halifax Hurricanes. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Game Day Production Staff will assist in the overall “live event” production of Hockey, Basketball, Professional Lacrosse and/or any other events that require video production services at Scotiabank Centre. These positions are considered part-time, casual roles, and shifts are scheduled during event activity as required. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Production: • Assist production team with the set up and tear down of camera equipment and other production requirements. In-game production: • Operate camera equipment during “live production”. • Operate hand held, wide and/or tight follow cameras, robotic pan/tilt camera. Control room in-game: • Operate production graphics (CG), video playback, production switching and instant replay. Requirements: • Undergraduate Degree in Communications or equivalent post-secondary education in Broadcasting - Radio, Television, Film & Digital Media. • 1 –2 years of Broadcast TV or Film production experience. • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. • Broadcast camera functionality knowledge required. • Technical knowledge of Ross Xpression CG, Ross Carbonite Production Switchers and Newtek Instant Replay clip servers is preferred. • Strong time management skills, team player, good written and verbal communication skills, and reasonable problem solving and interpersonal skills. -

Halifax Sport Heritage Walking Tour Self-Guided The Downtown Core Loop ◆ Walking time (non-stop): 50 minutes ◆ Recommended time: 2 hours◆ Difficulty: Easy-Medium The Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame was established by John “Gee” Ahern, Mayor of Halifax in the 1940s, as a response to Kingston, Ontario’s claimof being the birthplace of hockey. The Hall of Fame officially opened on November 3rd, 1964 and moved locations many times over the decades as it continued to grow. It moved to its current location adjacent to the Scotiabank Centre in 2006. Make sure you check out Sidney Crosby’s famous dryer and try your skills in the multi-sport simulator! Ahern Avenue is located between Citadel High School and Citadel Hill and was named after John “Gee” Ahern (below). Ahern was the mayor of Halifax from 1946 to 1949 and was also a member of the Nova Scotia Legislature. Ahern felt strongly that there should be recognition for Nova Scotia athletes. He initiated the formation of the Hall of Fame in 1958 and was later inducted in 1982 for his contributions to hockey, baseball and rugby in Nova Scotia. The Halifax Public Gardens opened in the The Wanderers Grounds were established 1840s and became the home of Canada’s in the 1880s and were once a part of the first covered skating rink in 1863, followed Halifax Commons. These grounds were by the first public lawn tennis court in the home to the Wanderers Amateur Athletic country in 1876. The gardens’ pond was a Club for rugby, lawn bowling and more. -

Public X Report No. 2016-08-33 Private Date: August 31, 2016 HALIFAX REGIONAL SCHOOL BOARD Staff Technical Report Further to: School Options Committee Final Report and Recommendations Citadel Family of Schools – School Review 2016 PURPOSE: To provide comments to the Governing Board regarding the recommendations from the School Options Committee (SOC) of the Citadel High Family of Schools school review. BACKGROUND: At the regular Board Meeting on December 16, 2015, Report 2015- 10-43 Recommendation to Review Citadel High School Family of Schools was presented by staff and the following motion was carried by the Governing Board: It was moved/seconded (Linders/Jakeman) that the Governing Board direct staff to initiate a review of the following schools within the Citadel High Family of Schools: • Joseph Howe Elementary • Oxford School • St Patrick’s-Alexander McKay Elementary • St. Stephen’s Elementary • Highland Park Junior High That the Governing Board direct the Superintendent to establish a School Options Committee to complete the review following the provincial School Review Policy That the Governing Board approve the Terms of Reference for this review as being those included in Appendix A. At a Special Board Meeting on July 6, 2016, the following motion was carried by the Governing Board: It was moved and seconded (Daye/Yee) that the Governing Board approve the following process for receiving and approving School Options Committee (SOC) Reports as amended: Upon receipt of the final report from the SOC, the Superintendent will: 1.
