Soli Deo Glori. “The hard task is to love, and music is a skill that prepares man for this most difficult task” - John Blacking RESUMO No contexto da música cristã no Brasil, os cânticos adventistas têm veiculado de forma eficaz a transmissão da mensagem teológica da Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia. Palavras-chave: Teomusicologia; música adventista; Adventismo do Sétimo Dia; música cristã ABSTRACT In the context of Christian music in Brazil, Adventists songs have effectively disseminated the theological message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The observation of Adventist musical field displays the connection between music and theology, in the sense that theological propositions for musical practice are related to the doctrinal distinction of Adventism. With the aid of Theomusicology, a methodological framework that consists in a theologically informed musicology, this study aims to verify if the theological mindset of Adventists is transferred to the structures of the composition of songs. The objective of this thesis is to introduce Theomusicology as a method of examining Christian song through the study of Adventist musical production.

Progress is noted in the T number of baptisms, churches, institutions, schools, the media, and especially the preaching of the gospel to everyone, by mission preachers, volunteers and employees, by internet, by testimony, by voice and by attitudes. In The West Central Africa Division, Our Division, we have witnessed this sharp growth to the point of reaching 10 unions in this division! Amen! The church is growing! We expected to have 500 participants, but on the first day, we had one thousand five hundred people, and on the last day, 5000 people! Other areas experienced blessings too: Maranatha projects for education, ADRA, AYS, Health, Literature evangelism, Women ministries, etc. God has poured out blessings thus giving the assu- rance of God’s guidance over His church! The Future? «We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way of how God has led in the past.»Ellen White – Life Sketches, p.
