VRR Historic Sports Racer Category (HSR) (Updated 2/6/12) Formerly Group 7 Supplemental Regulations and Class List VRR Historic Sports Racer Category (HSR) (Updated 2/6/12) Formerly Group 7 Supplemental Regulations and Class List 1. Eligibility: a) Can-Am cars as raced after ~1970. b) World Championship for Makes sports cars as raced after ~1970. c) Under 2.0L sports cars as raced after 1970. (BDG, YBM, Hart, BMW, etc. engines may not exceed 2.0L) d) Center seat Cam-Am cars. (3.0L racing engines & 5.0L stock block engines) e) SCCA A-Sports Racer (ASR) (ASR is over 2.0L) f) SCCA B-Sports Racer (BSR) (BSR is up to 2.0L) g) SCCA C & D-Sports Racer (CSR) (CSR is up to 1600cc) h) Sports 2000 (see Rules published by NAC-SRCC, http://www.nac-srcc.com) i) Cars listed in Vintage Sports Racer (VSR) Category desiring to upgrade to post 1970 specifications. 2. Background and philosophy: Cars in this category are expected to be prepared as they were during their competitive racing period. Since racing technology progressed very rapidly during this period, there may be different specifications that are period correct. The intent is to provide fair and equitable racing amongst this diverse group of cars. 3. Modifications: Since these cars mostly raced in open categories, there will be variations within a particular make and model that are period correct. These cars are expected to have only period equipment and specifications. It is the responsibility of a competitor to provide documentation for any specification that is not generally considered appropriate. All competitors are expected to do research and comply with any appropriate period regulations. 4. Engines: Engine type and displacement must be correctly reported. In cases where an alternate engine is used, the details must be fully disclosed and reported using a Race Car Information Sheet. In most cases an incorrect displacement or type will be permitted so long as an appropriate class exists within the category class structure. 5. Approved tires: Racing slicks. While exact size and aspect ratio are not specified, entrants must ensure that tire choice is appropriate for the car during the eligibility period. ================================================================================================== (HASR) Can-Am and A/Sports Racing (over 2.0L) BRM P167 Chaparral (HWSC) World Sportscar Championship Delta Ti22 (1971 thru 1981) Ferrari 512/ 612/ 712 Alfa Romeo T33/3 & T33TT/3 GRD S72 Alpine A442-Renault Lola T70/T160-165 Chevron B31 Lola T220/222/260/310 Ferrari 312P & BP (3.0L) Ferrari 512S & M (5.0L) March 707 & 717 Ford GT40 March 817, 827, 832, 847, 84C, 85C Lola T280/282/284/286/380 (3.0L) Matich SR-3 March 75S McLaren M6a/ M6b Matra-Simca MS670 McLaren M8b/M8c/M8e/M8f Mirage M6 & GR8 (3.0L) McLaren M12, M20 Porsche 908/03 (3.0L) McKee Porsche 917K, 917/20 (4.5/5.0L) Porsche 908 Porsche 936 (2.2L turbo) Porsche 917PA, 917/10 & 30 UOP Shadow DN4A (HS2) Sports 2000 (per NAC-SRCC Rules) Center-seat CanAm (5.0L limit) Frissbee (HCSR) Sports Racers (under 1600cc) Lola T330, T332, T333CS, T530 March 847 Prophet Schkee (HBSR) Sports Racers (1600-2000cc) Abarth 021 Bobsy SR Chevron B19, 21, 23, 26, 31, 36 Lola T210/212/290-298/390 Mallock U-2 TOJ Center-seat CanAm (2.0L limit) March 77S, 732, 817, 832, 847, 84C, 85C Ralt RT-2 .

Free from the constraints of convention and empowered by the skills gained from decades spent at the pinnacle of Formula OneTM, we knew that to create the world’s first no-compromise sports car we had to form a visionary new sports car company. McLaren Automotive was born. The first and most important decision we made was to equip our team of designers and engineers with the ultimate creative resource: a clean sheet of paper. Underpinned by considerable investment, some of the brightest and bravest minds in the automotive industry set to work on creating a sports car like no other. Four years later, the result is what we’ve come to refer to as the ‘AND’ car. It’s a small word, but one that carries huge significance. We passionately believe that our commitment to innovation, our obsessive attention to detail and our exacting standards have resulted in a car that surpasses the highs you have experienced in previous sports cars.

It was an Englishman, Louis S. Sanson, who designed and developed the Interlagos circuit, which opened its gates in 1940. The area was sparsely populated at the time, close to the two great water reservoirs of the city (hence the name, ‘between the lakes’) and the plans were quite ambitious including a hotel and a spa. Only the circuit was built but, of course, not in its present configuration. On May 12 1940, the track was inaugurated with 7.900 meters by then. With nearly 15,000 spectators watching, Arthur Nascimento Jr. won the race driving an Alfa Romeo. Our very beloved Chico Landi arrived in second place driving a Maserati. He kept racing at the circuit until his retirement in 1974. The first international race was held in 1947 and the winner, the Italian Achille Varzi also drove an Alfa Romeo, Chico Landi arrived in second place in his Maserati. Thirty-two years after the first race, on March 30, 1972, fifty thousand spectators saw Carlos Reutemann win the first modern Formula 1 race at the Interlagos circuit in Bernie Ecclestone’s Brabham. In the next year, Brazil definitely joined the selected group of countries on the calendar of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Many people think that Interlagos made it possible for motorsport to develop in the country offering a world class circuit for the various new categories that needed a home. In 1980, the Brazilian Grand Prix moved to Rio de Janeiro seeking better conditions and there were rumors that Interlagos would be turned into a housing project.
