Personalbrain 5.5 Release History PersonalBrain 5.5 Release History PersonalBrain 5.5 is a free upgrade for all version 5 users. Note: Opening a Brain in version 5.5 makes irreversible changes to your Brain database, making it incompatible with version 5.0. If you wish to continue using version 5.0, you must make a backup of your Brain prior to opening it with version 5.5. Version 5.5.2.5 October 25, 2010 Fixes o Java 6 update 22 compatibility o The continuous backup truncates Thought names longer than 128 characters. Version 5.5.2.4 April 20, 2010 Fixes o Fixed: Importing brains from version 3.0 does not work o Fixed: Under Windows 7, if PersonalBrain starts automatically and there is also a link to PersonalBrain pinned in the taskbar, the link is not highlighted correctly. To correct this problem if you are upgrading from an earlier version, you may need to open Preferences > General and uncheck Open PersonalBrain when Windows starts, click OK, then re-open Preferences and re-enable the setting. Fixed: Accelerators operate on the wrong thought after clicking on a report result or moving focus to notes . Fixed: Shift can be used as a modifier on common keys to create an invalid accelerator . Fixed: The text “ACTIVE_THOUGHT” shows in the accelerators list . Fixed: Some feedback messages are too long to appear properly . Fixed: Various issues with the tags and type menus when opened via accelerators . Fixed: Some reserved keys such as Tab should not be allowed as accelerators Preferences o Moved settings related to the various views under the new “Views” tab o The Preferences window is now more compact Fixes o Fixed: In outline and expanded views new created Thoughts are sometimes not linked correctly o Fixed: Undoing of unlinking and linking actions does not function as expected o Fixed: Dutch localization is not installed

Once again, the Handbook has been revised and updated to reflect the evolution of this discipline, and the many strategic, operational and technical challenges OSINT practitioners have to grapple with. Given the speed of change on the web, some might question the wisdom of pulling together such a resource. What’s wrong with the Top 10 tools, or the Top 100? There are only so many resources one can bookmark after all. Such arguments are not without merit. My fear, however, is that they are also shortsighted. I offer four reasons why. To begin, a shortlist betrays the widening spectrum of OSINT practice. Whereas OSINT was once the preserve of analysts working in national security, it now embraces a growing class of professionals in fields as diverse as journalism, cybersecurity, investment research, crisis management and human rights. A limited toolkit can never satisfy all of these constituencies. Second, a good OSINT practitioner is someone who is comfortable working with different tools, sources and collection strategies. The temptation toward narrow specialisation in OSINT is one that has to be resisted. Why? Because no research task is ever as tidy as the customer’s requirements are likely to suggest. Third, is the inevitable realisation that good tool awareness is equivalent to good source awareness. Indeed, the right tool can determine whether you harvest the right information.

The objectives of the paper are: to describe about different types of software used in creating digital mind maps; to highlight the process of digital mind map development through software and to provide an overview of benefits and usefulness of digital mind mapping software. It’s a review-based study. Articles published in various leading journals, conference proceedings, online materials have been referred in the present article. The first part of the paper describes concept of digital mind mapping software. Second part of the paper provides a brief description about different software used in creating digital mind maps. The third part of the article explains about the process of digital mind map creation through software. The last part of the paper elaborates benefits and usefulness of digital mind mapping software.
