Federal fleets will lead by example to help “create a clean energy economy that will increase our Nation’s prosperity, promote energy security, protect the interests of taxpayers, and safeguard the health of our environment.” The Fleet Management Association has developed NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Standard Program. This program hopes to clarify and define what sustainable means for fleet vehicles and what savings can be expected from sustainable fleet management. SPECIAL EVENTS : PHOENIX AND LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOWS - DETROIT PREVIEW PHOENIX Arizona International Auto Show PHOENIX CONVENTION CENTER NOVEMBER 23-26, 2006 “Green” vehicles, luxury rides and more AutoAuto at the Arizona International Auto Show More than 400 of the latest cars, trucks, minivans and sport/utility vehicles rolled into the Phoenix Conven- tion Center for the 2007-Model Arizona International ShowShow Auto Show in late November. This special automotive event allowed attendees to check out all the newest vehicles in a non-selling environment. There was an opportunity to learn more about the SeasonSeason increasingly popular “green” auto movement, includ- ing hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles. The show also offered the public an up-close look at concept cars, crossover vehicles, sports cars and much more. Visitors also got a look at the $600 million expansion of the Phoenix Convention Center, which will triple the Center’s size by nearly 900,000 square feet of rentable space to more than 2 million square feet total. The expansion is taking place in phases so the Center remains open for convention business throughout. Photos: Spin Communications Phase one was complete in July 2006, and the balance will be finished in 2008 and open for business in 2009. Representatives from more than 30 leading manu- facturers were on site to answer questions and pro- vide information on the latest vehicles. Gran Turismo 5 As of today Sony has announced the full Gran Turismo 5 car list. It consists of 10000 cars. At launch it will only have 340 cars while the others will be developed in the future. Polyphony Digital will also develop cars for individual clients. That means in the future we could have any car put into the game for a special price. In this role, Mr. Boddie lead the team that delivered the 1994 SN95 (4th generation) Mustang. O. JOHN COLETTI "John Coletti, Special Vehicle Engineering. Coletti is best known as team leader of the ""skunkworks"" effort that became the 1994 SN95 Mustang. The ""secret group"" breathed new life into one of the most legendary automotive nameplates of all time. Coletti's team also developed noteworthy performance concept vehicles, including such past products as the Mach III, 10.0-liter BOSS Mustang, GT90, Mustang Super Stallion, 6.1-liter Mustang CJR and the Ford GT." LARRY SHINODA In 1968, Shinoda (designer of the Mako Shark Corvette concept car) followed then-Chevy General Manager Bunkie Knudsen to Ford. He took over design leadership of the 1969 Mustang in time to sponsor and create the Boss 302 and 429 Mustangs, perhaps two of the most famous Mustang models ever produced. Page 1 of 22 FORD MOTOR COMPANY Ford Motor Company Henry Ford (July 30, 1863 – April 7, 1947) was the American founder of the Ford Motor Company and father of modern assembly lines used in mass production. His introduction of the Model T automobile revolutionized transportation and American industry. He was a prolific inventor and was awarded 161 U.S. patents. As owner of the Ford Motor Company he became one of the richest and best-known people in the world. He is credited with "Fordism", that is, the mass production of large numbers of inexpensive automobiles using the assembly line, coupled with high wages for his workers. Ford had a global vision, with consumerism as the key to peace. Ford did not believe in accountants; he amassed one of the world's largest fortunes without ever having his company audited under his administration. Henry Ford's intense commitment to lowering costs resulted in many technical and business innovations, including a franchise system that put a dealership in every city in North America, and in major cities on six continents. Ford left most of his vast wealth to the Ford Foundation but arranged for his family to Henry Ford (ca.1919) History of Ford : Ford was launched in a converted factory in 1902 with $31,000 in cash (approximately US $687 thousand, adjusted for inflation) from twelve investors, most notably John and Horace Dodge, who would later found the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company. Henry Ford was 40 years old when he founded the Ford Motor Company, which would go on to become one of the largest and most profitable companies in the world, as well as being one of the few to survive the Great Depression.
