Tale guida potrà essere utilizzata dalla Regione per monitorare gli ambienti sensibili nel caso siano realizzate coltivazioni OGM in Toscana. La guida di monitoraggio è in linea con le direttive della CE e le politiche sugli OGM come descritte nella direttiva EC2001/18 e nelle leggi italiane e della Regione Toscana, nonché con altre direttive in materia di conservazione e protezione ambientale e di tutela del consumatore. Inoltre, la guida di monitoraggio è compatibile con le metodologie e le raccomandazioni dell’EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) (Guidance on the post market environmental monitoring of GMOs, EFSA 2011) e con il monitoraggio ambientale sviluppato da DG SANCO e dalle autorità competenti degli Stati membri. Tale guida si suddivide in due parti, la prima riguarda l’analisi del rischio nelle aree di studio del progetto DEMETRA allargata a tutta l’area del Parco di Migliarino San Rossore e Massaciuccoli. La seconda parte indica come dovrebbe essere condotto il monitoraggio nelle aree considerate a rischio indicando le specie da includere nel monitoraggio ed il periodo in cui questo dovrebbe essere condotto in relazione alla specie GM eventualmente coltivata. -

1 This Guide Covers 229 Species of Typical Weevils
This guide covers 229 species of typical weevils: those with elbowed antennae, but excluding the flea weevils, the broad-noses, and the Ceutorhynchs. It includes all the native British and Irish species and most of the established non-natives (the missing species are only established in one or two places). It is largely complete, but there are still some accounts to finish or check. Missing information, and statements that I have not checked against enough specimens are preceded with ??; and there are three groups that are yet to be done: Bagous. I need to spend more time with museum collections so I can understand the species. The three extremely rare Dorytomus: rubrirostris, salicis, and majalis. I have seen so few genuine specimens, and most of those have been poorly mounted or are so dirty that I have not been able to get a good idea of the characters. Thryogenes. When fresh, these are not so difficult. But so often the scales are worn, and then I find them confusing. I do not yet understand how to tell them apart. I need to spend more time with museum collections before I can complete these. There are also a few species that have no illustration, but these are all uncommon or rare. I would rather make this guide available without those species and with its imperfections than wait for yet another year to pass by. You should read the Introduction to the guides, which explains the parts of a weevil and how to use the identification guides. In this guide to the species, the species are arranged by genus or other similar groups. -

Identification of Common Range Plants of Southern Saskatchewan

Hargrave Introduction This field guide is intended for basic plant identification and reviews the common range plant species found throughout southern Saskatchewan. It is primarily designed for producers, land managers, and extension personnel. For a more complete listing of plants or more detailed identification, please refer to Budd’s Flora of the Canadian Prairie Provinces (see references). There are four sections in this guide, corresponding to the main range plant groups: • Grasses • Grass-like Plants • Forbs • Shrubs Vegetative and flower characteristics are used to describe plants in this guide, in conjunction with plant illustrations. The species habitat, distribution, and height are included. Growth form is listed if not erect (ie. spreading). The perennial growth habit applies to all species unless otherwise noted (ie. annual, biennial). The season of flowering for the forbs and shrubs is also included. Grasses can have one of two designations: cool season or warm season. These designations refer to differences in how plants perform photosynthesis. Warm season species have photosynthetic processes that are more efficient in warmer, drier environments. Therefore, growth of warm season species is later in the growing season while cool season species grow in the spring and early summer. The cool season designation applies to all grass species in southern Saskatchewan unless otherwise noted. Some of the plant species in this field guide have a “Similar Species” box next to the illustration. These plants are closely related to the illustrated plant, but have distinguishing features.
