GLOBAL BETTING, GAMBLING AND GAMING INDUSTRY

Global recession had adversely affected the gambling industry. It is anticipated that spending on gambling and betting activities will improve once the economies recover from recession. Global gambling and gaming revenues registered a growth rate of 3% in 2008 and a decline of 2.4% in 2009. The overall industry has continued to grow at a slower growth rate. . The total gaming and gambling industry in 2009 reached USD ~ billion and the casino market reached USD 103 billion, registering a decline of 1.8%. For the period 2004–2009, the gambling industry recorded a CAGR of 3.58%. The industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.5%, 2010–2015. 1.1. GLOBAL ONLINE GAMING MARKET

The global online gaming market has grown at a CAGR of 18.21% during the period 2002- 2010. Since 2002, Poker has witnessed a compound annual gross win growth of 96% and has been the fastest growing betting activity. CHINA MARKET FOR GAMBLING AND LOTTERY

The annual lottery revenue in China expanded from USD ~ billion in 2000 to USD ~ billion in 2010 with a CAGR 27.38%. In terms of global lottery market share China accounted for 7% in 2008 with growing GDP and disposable income. VIDEO LOTTERY GAMES AND KENO IN CHINA

Video lottery games and Keno are high-frequency games launched in the end of 2005. As of 31 December 2007, there were over 20,000 video lottery terminals (VLT) launched in 900 VLT halls in China. In 1Q08, market share of VLT in welfare lottery already slid to 13% from 21% in end-07. The VLT sales is expected to gradually recover in 2009-10. By end- 2012, VLT and Keno sales to reach USD ~ billion, implying a CAGR of 26.34%% during 2009-2012.

LOTTERIES BY SEGMENTS

FUTURE OUTLOOK OF THE CASINO AND GAMING INDUSTRY IN CHINA Lottery market has shown a continous growth trend in the past and expected to show the similar performance in future along with the contribution of young population. There was a bearable set back in the lottery demand in the secong half of 2009 which is expected to cover up in 2010. The China’s lottery market is estimated to reach USD ~ billion by 2015, implying a CAGR of 11.06% from 2010.

MACAU CASINO AND GAMING INDUSTRY

There is a strong growth opportunity in Macau for slot gaming and gaming machines market as it is still not tapped completely.

Macau's full-year 2010 gambling revenue rose to USD ~ billion) from USD ~ billion in 2009, when the city was hit by the global economic downturn, a swine flu outbreak and mainland China visa restrictions in the first half. Revenue in casino sector increased to 56.5% in 2010 as compared to USD ~ billion in 2009. Growth in Casino sector has been driven by increase in number of visitors and strengthening Chinese economy.

FUTURE OUTLOOK OF THE CASINO AND GAMING INDUSTRY IN MACAU

Macau gaming industry is developing with a strong growth rate compared to other Asian countries driven by rising number of tourist arrival and growing middle class income level. A major portion of GDP in Macau comes from gambling industry but now government of China is planning to introduce improved regulation and diversification of Macao's economy away from gambling.

Macau casino and gaming revenue will reach to USD ~ billion in 2011 with a growth rate of 20.48% from revenues generated in previous year and further expected grow by CAGR 15.77% by 2015.
