The School Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an Independent Co-educational Day School, governed by the Harpur Trust. There are more than 1200 students in the School ranging in age from 7 to 18. Summary of the role: Job Title: After School Care Manager Location: Bedford Modern School, Manton Lane, Bedford Job Purpose: To arrange and manage the provision of After School Care. Reporting Line: Head of Junior School Hours of work: 3.45pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only. HR June 2020 Job Description – After School Care Manager Salary: £6,882per annum actual, £24,444 FTE To manage the ASC staff, both adult and student To ensure that each session is adequately staffed To ensure that there are staff available for the Open Day crèche Keeping records of adult staff overtime Keeping records of student staff working hours and completing time sheets accordingly Being involved in the annual recruitment process for Y12/Y13 staff Keeping records of attendance at ASC – completing the Main duties and spreadsheet for the HT re ASC fees and liaising with the responsibilities BMS accounts department. Liaising with parents of students using the after school provision, as appropriate Liaising with staff re: training Being aware of school Safeguarding protocol Pastoral care of the children in ASC Responding to requests for appropriate levels of care and discipline via the JS staff Management of resources Management of refreshments Any other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Line Manager. The post holder is required to operate within School policies and procedures including Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies.
