The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) is a diagnostic and referral service of the Office of Medical Services that is strictly confidential. The individual who seeks help for substance abuse is assured the same medical confidentiality accorded those who seek help for other illnesses. The individual's diagnosis and treatment plan become part of their confidential medical record, not part of their personnel file. By federal law, counseling and/or treatment are in no way prejudicial to job security or promotional opportunities.
