This Partnership Agreement Is Made Between Short Season LLC, Dba Hillsboro Hops Professional Baseball (Club), and Destination Newport (Partner) PARTNERSIDPAGREEMENT This Partnership Agreement is made between Short Season LLC, dba Hillsboro Hops Professional Baseball (Club), and Destination Newport (Partner). This agreement is effective 2/16/2018 and will be for the 2018 season. Partner and Club agree as follows: Partner to Receive: Branding - Signage Partner will receive one (1) 4' x 6' signage placement on the main concourse of Ron Tonkin Field. Fixed and visible for all Hops games. Partner to provide production-ready artwork and Club to cover the cost of initial signage production. Partner shall have the right to change sigt1age creative at any point during the partnership, but will do so at their own expense. Promotional - Sponsor Night Partner will be the presenting sponsor of one (1) theme night each season of this agreement. Initial concept is "Deadliest Catch Night". Exact concept to be mutually agreed upon each season. Theme Night will be listed in the pocket schedule and online calendar as "Deadliest Catch Night presented by Destination Newport." Promotion will include: • Custom videoboard graphic promoting the theme night • Videoboard content in line with theme night • Opportunity to have activations on the Ron Tonkin Field concourse at Partner's behest Print Elements Partner will have 8.5" H x 5.5" W, full-page, four-color ad in The Hillsboro Hops gameday program. Artwork will be provided by Partner with an opportunity to change the artwork up to three (3) times throughout the season with different volumes. In-venue / Video Board Elements Partner will receive the following in-venue/ video board elements: • One (1) on-field contest during all thirty-eight (38) games o Branded graphic and PA complementing the on-field contest. o On-field contests will be rotated throughout the season. o Concepts include a "Dress-up Relay Race," "Dungeness Crab Walk Race," Give Us Your Best Call," etc. Radio Elements Partner will receive the following Radio broadcast elements on Rip City Radio 620am KPOJ: • One (1) thirty (:30) second radio ad per live game broadcast. • One (1) fifteen (:15) second live read or branded feature per live game broadcast. TV Elements Partner will receive the following TV broadcast elements: • Three (3) thirty (:30) second in-game spots per broadcast. Terms and Considerations In consideration for the benefits to be provided to Partner by Club, Partner will pay Club the amounts set forth below and at the times set forth below: • 1-year agreement covering the 2018 season • Annual Investment - $15,000 o To be billed in four (4) equal monthly installments of $3,750 o To be billed June, July, August and September of 2018 • Additional Terms o Initial production costs included By signing.this agreement, Destination Newport and Hillsboro Hops Professional Baseball agree to all of the above elements. This contract becomes non-cancelable and in force once signed by both parties. Camera ready copy to be provided by Partner. Should Partner be unable to do so, Partner shall accept reasonable and satisfactory copy prepared by Club on Partner's behalf. Partner agrees to hold Club harmless from all claims, damages and expenses arising from any and all elements included within this partnership. Should any payment be in default 30 days, all subsequent payments shall become due and payable immediately. The signing party understands, acknowledges and agrees that all deposits and payments are non-refundable. In the event this account is referred to collection, the Partner agrees to pay collections fees not to exceed 35% of the commercial claim. The venue of any collection action based on this agreement shall lie in Washington County, in the state of Oregon. Partner represents and warrants that the person whose signature appears below is duly authorized to execute this agreement and legally bind Partner under this agreement.     CASE STUDY The Case Study of the Ron Tonkin Field/ Hillsboro Hops Public-Private Partnership The Hillsboro City Council set out to expand the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex and bring professional baseball to town as a means of enhancing residents’ quality of life. In doing so, the Council had several goals, including: 1. To create a facility that could be used year-round for youth sports, adult sports, special and community events. 2. To continue to support fields for public use, particularly to support athletic programs of the Hillsboro School District, as well as regional and state university athletic programs. 3. To support local youth with the creation of new jobs. 4. To support economic development in Hillsboro and help local businesses by increasing tourism spending and related entertainment spending. 5. To build regional and national awareness of Hillsboro as a means of highlighting our exceptional community. After a significant investment of time to gather and evaluate all available information in order to reach the best informed decision, the Hillsboro City Council authorized a public-private partnership with Short Season, LLC, owners of the soon-to-be named Hillsboro Hops. The agreement called for Short Season, LLC to relocate the team from Yakima and begin play in Hillsboro in June 2013 at the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex. In the Hops’ first three years playing at Hillsboro Ballpark/Ron Tonkin Field (renamed in 2014), the team sold more than 430,000 tickets. In addition to hosting the only professional baseball team in the Portland metro area, Ron Tonkin Field continues to play host to high school football, soccer, baseball, and charity fundraising events.

The Diamondbacks provide players and coaches to the team, as well as a stadium for the baseball prospects to play their games. The team is considered a Short Season Single A baseball club that features predominately first year players (About the Hillsboro Hops, n.d.). The team was previously based in Yakima, Washington and just recently relocated to Hillsboro, Oregon in 2013. Upon moving to Hillsboro, the team acquired new ownership, new facilities and a new name. The previously named Yakima Bears became the Hillsboro Hops. Ron Tonkin Field, which has the ability to host 4,500 people at capacity, was built for the Hops and is used for youth soccer and lacrosse in the off-season (Gordon Faber Recreation Complex, n.d.). The Hops are a part of the Northwest Conference, in which it plays other short season teams in the Pacific Northwest. Although supported by the Diamondbacks, the Hops are a privately and locally owned business. Short Season LLC owns the Hillsboro Hops Professional Baseball team. There are 30 investors that are a part of the ownership group. President Mike McMurray and his wife, Vice President and CFO, Laura McMurray, live in Hillsboro. The McMurray’s are highly involved in the daily operations of the team (About the Hillsboro Hops, n.d.). The organization’s mission statement is “to provide a memorable first-class experience so that we can enrich the lives of our fans, staff, players and community” (About the Hillsboro Hops, n.d.).

As we prepare for the 2020 season, we have many accomplishments from last season to celebrate. None of our efforts would be possible without the great work of our teams, continued dedication from staff at the national office and the support of our millions of fans nationwide. For a fifth straight year, all 160 clubs reported their charitable giving and contributions, allowing us to accurately assess our collective efforts. It gives me great pleasure to say that in 2019, MiLB Charities donated nearly $50 million in cash and gifts in kind from our teams, leagues and partners — once again setting a new record-high total. In addition, MiLB and its teams nearly doubled our volunteer efforts from 2018, giving more than 26,000 hours in service of our communities. This report highlights MiLB Charities’ many programs and initiatives, including the MiLB CommUNITY Initiative presented by Allegiant Air, the Stars & Stripes Caps Program with New Era Cap Company, the Derrick Hall Pro-State Foundation Father’s Day Initiative, Ed Randall’s Fans For the Cure, the Joe Torre Safe At Home Domestic Violence Awareness Initiative, and the “Cover Your Bases” Sun Safety Initiative with the American Cancer Society. Less than 15 months after the City of Hillsboro’s Parks & Recreation Department staff opened then-named Hillsboro Ballpark, the crowd of cheering fans witnessed history being made at Ron Tonkin Field. Capping an amazing season, the Hops sealed the deal by winning the team’s first Northwest League Championship on its home turf. While the Hops’ players will try to repeat as champions next summer, Parks & Recreation Department staff know that the season never ends. For every Hops home game (there were 40 in 2014, playoffs included), Ron Tonkin Field will host eight other community events and games.
