Nominee Statement

My actuarial training and profession has given me an amazing and varied career over 30 years and I would now like to spend time giving back to the profession. Since retiring from an executive career, where I worked as a life insurance consulting actuary, first at Trowbridge and then at Deloitte, I have worked in a mix of Board roles and wider fields consulting roles. These have included working in the environmental and social justice fields, including consulting roles for The Institute, the , The Wilderness Society and the Foundation. My work in the environmental sector also led to my teaching the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) stream of the CAP Course for many years.

I have significant experience on Boards, and I currently sit on a mix of ASX listed, private and public sector boards, as well as Chairing an industry super fund board. I also sit on the National Board of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, where I try to champion the role of actuaries in society and on boards.

2019 Council Election Candidate information

I would provide a strong complement to the current excellent team of Councillors, both because of my governance background but also my life insurance background and my current involvement with the wealth management and superannuation industries.

I would work hard on Council to ensure that we support the Council staff and you, our members, to make the actuarial profession as strong as it can be and ensure we maximise the influence of actuaries all through society.
