Vous pourrez apercevoir depuis la Cour d’Honneur du Château de Valençay, l’ancien pavillon de chasse du Château de Valençay : le Domaine de la Garenne. Cet élégant pavillon, lieu de plaisance bâti par Talleyrand de 1805 à 1806, paraît avoir été inspiré par Renard, son architecte. Mais la mort de ce dernier, en 1807, pourrait bien avoir conduit son successeur Bonnard à parachever cette construction originale, dite de style rustique à l’italienne, dont il ne reste que peu d’exemples. Aujourd’hui propriété privée, ce pavillon faisait partie initialement du Château dont il a été séparé par la déviation du tracé de la route vers SEE TO PLACES Châteauroux. Domaine de la Garenne à Valençay Sa première destination a été de servir de lieu de distraction principalement aux Princes d’Espagne pendant leur exil à Valençay.
