WP_JNews_film_BC19_MECH.indd 1 1/29/19 11:11 AM ANNUAL W elcome Welcome to the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee’s 10th anniversary Jewish Film Festival. Ten years ago, Roz Goldberg had an idea. She was looking for a program to increase awareness about the Federation throughout Sarasota-Manatee. A devoted film buff and Jewish Film Festival attendee in New York, Roz thought maybe that would work here. She started with six films, which she personally selected, and hoped people would come. The rest is, as they say, history. To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are showing 18 remarkable films this year, to what we expect if past years are any indication, sold out crowds. We are very proud of the movies; they are narratives and documentaries, comedies and tragedies, love stories and mysteries. Many of them have won awards. All of them have special interest to Jewish viewers. We want to thank our wonderful sponsors, volunteers and supporters for making every year bigger and better than the last. This year will no doubt be the best one yet; that is, until next year! See you at the movies!
