A confl uence of events including warm weather, a non-compliant compressor and a visit from Riv- erside County Environmental Health and Safety, have delayed the opening of the ice rink at the Idyllwild Community Center property. Idyllwild Commu- nity Recreation Council Vice President Dawn Sonnier said rink operator Gary Steven is installing a new compressor to double the capacity to freeze the ice better. “It will be completed and set up by Friday [Jan. 6] but [there] won’t be skating until [the ice] is ready,” she said.
