The Committee was represented at the Conference by a delegation comprising Ravan A. G. Farhâdi (Afghanistan), Vice-Chairman of the Committee; Victor Camilleri (Malta), Rapporteur of the Committee; Diana Carmenate Perez (Cuba); and Somaia Barghouti (Palestine). 3. Eighteen representatives of civil society organizations were invited to serve as members of the Steering Committee of the Conference (see the list of participants in annex III). The Steering Committee members chaired different sessions of the Conference, conferred with other participants and drafted the Plan of Action in consultation with the United Nations Committee delegation, which was discussed and adopted by Conference participants with modification (see annex I).
