Annotated check - list of Malachiidae beetles of the Zakarpattia R egion , Ukraine . – V. V. Mirutenko . – A checklist of beetles of the Malachiidae family (Coleoptera) is given for the Zakarpattia Region ( the Transcarpathia) of Ukraine. Twenty - eight species from twelve genera (subfamily Malachiinae) are listed in the fauna of the regional fauna . Of these species , two ( Ebaeus ater Kiesenwetter, 1863 and Anthocomus fasciatus (Linnaeus, 1758) ) are new records for th e region . O ne genus, Clanoptilus, with 7 species is the most diverse. Largest number of malachiid - beetles species is found on the Transcarpathian Lowland – 23 species. Key words: Malachiidae, beetles, fauna , Zakarpattia , Transcarpathia , Ukraine . Для регіональної фауни приводяться 28 видів з 12 родів , підродин и Malachiinae (кількість видів для роду наведена в дужках): Apalochrus Erichson , 1840 (1), Attalus Erichson, 1840 (2), Ebaeus Erichson, 1840 (2), Hypebaeus Kiesenwetter, 1863 (1), Anthocomus Erichson, 1840 (3), Anthomalachius Tshernyshev, 2009 (1), Axinotarsus Motschulsky, 1853 (3), Charopus Erichson , 1840 (2), Clanoptilus Motschulsky, 1854 (7), Cordylepherus Evers , 1985 (1), Malachius Fabricius , 1775 (4), Troglops Erichson , 1840 (1). Крім зборів автора, в роботі представлені також дані багаторічних зборів з колекцій кафедри ентомології та збереження біорізноманіття Ужгородського національного університету та зоологічного музею Ужгородського національного університету. Для кожного виду наведені наступні дані: валідна назва, синонім(и), інформація щодо загального поширення, інформація про поширення в межах Закарпатській області, коментарі. З усіх родів фауни регіону рід Clanoptilus налічує найбільшу кількість видів – сім . Два види з і списку фауни ( Ebaeus ater Kiesenwetter, 1863 and Anthocomus fasciatus (Linnaeus, 1758) ) є новими для фауни Закарпаття. 17 видів є рідкісними. На території регіону жуки - малашки поширені в межах фізико - географічних районів: Стрийсько - Сянська Верховина і Вер ховинський Вододільний хребет, Внутрішні Ґорґани, масив Полонина Рівна, масив Полонина Боржава, масив Полонина Красна, масив Свидовець, масив Чорногора, масив Вігорлат, масив Маковиця - Синяк, масив Великий Діл - Тупий, Хустсько - Солотвинська улоговина, Гутинсь кий масив, масив Мармарош, Закарпатська низовина. Найбільша кількість видів родини зустрічається в межах Закарпатської низовини – 23 види . Наявність 28 видів ж уків - малашок у фауні Закарпаття свідчить про досить високе видове багатство фауни Malachiidae регіону в порівнянні з фауною цієї родини України загалом.     Bugs and Beasties of the Western Rhodopes (a photoguide to some lesser-known species) by Chris Gibson and Judith Poyser [email protected] Yagodina At Honeyguide, we aim to help you experience the full range of wildlife in the places we visit. Generally we start with birds, flowers and butterflies, but we don’t ignore 'other invertebrates'. In the western Rhodopes they are just so abundant and diverse that they are one of the abiding features of the area. While simply experiencing this diversity is sufficient for some, as naturalists many of us want to know more, and in particular to be able to give names to what we see. Therein lies the problem: especially in eastern Europe, there are few books covering the invertebrates in any comprehensive way. Hence this photoguide – while in no way can this be considered an ‘eastern Chinery’, it at least provides a taster of the rich invertebrate fauna you may encounter, based on a couple of Honeyguide holidays we have led in the western Rhodopes during June. We stayed most of the time in a tight area around Yagodina, and almost anything we saw could reasonably be expected to be seen almost anywhere around there in the right habitat. Most of the photos were taken in 2014, with a few additional ones from 2012. While these creatures have found their way into the lists of the holiday reports, relatively few have been accompanied by photos. We have attempted to name the species depicted, using the available books and the vast resources of the internet, but in many cases it has not been possible to be definitive and the identifications should be treated as a ‘best fit’.

Under the conditions of actual agro- ecological changes, yielded by climatic warming and dryness and new technological and economical conditions of zone agricultural exploitations, the research points out the extension risk of cereal pests attack with an increasing potential and the importance of the elaboration of integrated control strategy (ICS). Aceptado: 27-I-2004 ISSN: 0210-8984 RESUMEN Se realiza un inventario de 286 especies de Scarabaeoidea, Buprestoidea, Byrrhoidea, Elateroidea, Bostrichoidea, Lymexyloidea, Cleroidea, Cucujoidea, Tenebrionoidea, Chrysomeloidea y Curculionoidea del Parque Natural de las Fragas del Eume (Galicia, noroeste de la Península Ibérica). Destacan especialmente las citas de Aphthona sandrae Baselga y Novoa, 2002 que fue descrita del Parque Natural, así como Chrysobyrrhulus asturiensis Allemand, 1997, Grynobius planus (Fabricius, 1787), Phyllotreta exclamationis (Thunberg, 1784) y Longitarsus fulgens (Foudras, 1860) por ampliar significativamente su distribución. Debido al carácter atlántico del clima y la vegetación, los elementos septentrionales (25,1%) suponen una proporción mucho mayor que los mediterráneos (7,8%). Los endemismos ibéricos son bastan- te abundantes (14,8%) y aparecen numerosas especies típicas de áreas montañosas, datos que indican un alto grado de conservación de esta zona de baja altitud. The diversity of macrofungi in 8 sandstone gorges (narrow valleys bordered by sandstone walls, mostly covered by Picea forests with admixed Fagus, alt. 170–390 m) was assessed with respect to microclimatic data from 235 stations measuring temperature and soil moisture along the elevation gra- dient. In total, 253 species of macrofungi were found including some boreal-montane species, species preferring moist habitats and/or species of more or less natural vegetation. Microclimatically, the bot- toms of gorges are significantly colder than their slopes and slope crests during the vegetation period (climatic inversion) and show higher soil moisture throughout the year. However, they are not signifi- cantly colder during the winter period and even show a higher average minimal temperature than the rest of gorges. Generally, bottoms of sandstone gorges function as „buffers“ maintaining a stable, hu- mid and rather cold microclimate and enabling the occurrence of some boreal-montane fungi and spe- cies requiring humid conditions.
