Animation Made in Germany 2015 a Guide to Animation Production Companies 001 ANIMATION MADE IN GERMANY 2015 A guide to animation production companies 001 Introduction The booklet “Animation made in Germany 2015” is published by the German Producers Alliance – Film & Television and supported by several regional film funds in Germany with the aim to showcase animation com- panies that work out of Germany along with their products. It is being published as a practical handbook at the occasion of the Cartoon Forum 2015 and the workshop on “German-European Alliances in Animation” organized in connection with this event. At this workshop German repre- sentatives from the industry and their international counterparts will dis- cuss perspectives, trends and opportunities in animation focusing on Poland and the Baltic States. This booklet “Animation made in Germany 2015” expands on a prior initiative of seven German regional film funds and again this year is supported by such funds (as listed on page 002). Each company represented in this booklet has been suggested to be included by one or more of the regional film funds or other market participants – without claiming to cover the entire industry. We trust, however, that it does reflect the great variety of the industry’s potential in content, technique, creativity and style. Additionally it tries to show how the various target groups of the audience are addressed and how the network of producers, film funds and TV partners works in Germany. As such it delivers a good idea of the German industry and of the portfolio a German business part- ner has to offer. We hope that you will find this compendium useful to find suitable partners for your projects in Germany. We encourage you to use the booklet either as a first step to contact a German producer or to find a new German busi- ness partner to work with to create colorful new ideas and properties. 002 003 Acknowledgement German film and media funds supporting this booklet This booklet (and the workshop on “German – European Alliances in Ani- FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF) mation” organised at the occasion of the Cartoon Forum 2015 in Toulouse) Sonnenstrasse 21 would not have been made possible without the financial support and 80331 München other input generously provided by various regional German film and www.fff-bayern.de media funds. Netflix leads the field with a total of 122 nominations, including the successful series “Lost in Space”. Prof. Jury Stanossek, VFX Supervisor at Mackevision, has been nominated for the Emmy in the category “Outstanding Visual Effects” together with other VFX supervisors. “I am overwhelmed and incredibly grateful for the nomination. Above all, I am proud of the team whose work laid the foundation for the nomination. I would like to express my deepest thanks to our VFX Producer, Marina Winter, who has done an incredible job” said Juri Stanossek. “35 artists worked on seven episodes over a period of six months and created 75 shots. We are especially proud of the Jupiter spaceship model because it has a strong presence in every episode of the series.” For Stanossek, this is the second Emmy nomination in the course of his career. In 2012, he received both an Emmy award and an award from the renowned American organization “Visual Effects Society” for his work on the second season of “Game of Thrones”. Led by the VFX supervisors Jabbar Raisani, Terron Pratt and Marion Spates, Mackevision was one of multiple VFX companies operating worldwide that transformed “Lost in Space” into a superlative fantasy experience. Old wounds and rumours of the past resurface and haunt him as he tries to find out who really killed her. The film isn’t your typical revenge film. Looks are deceiving. In fact, it isn’t a revenge film at all. It’s a Greek tragedy that explores the central character’s guilt through Dante’s Inferno. Beyond, the murder and the treachery, the film is an emotional journey about a father and a daughter. This is the heart of the project. Without touching on a father’s love, the film fails. In fact, everything happens because of a father’s love for his daughter. He acts out of love.

  • Immortal Words: the Language and Style of the Contemporary Italian Undead-Romance Novel
Immortal Words: the Language and Style of the Contemporary Italian Undead-Romance Novel by Christina Vani A thesis submitted in conformity with the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Department of Italian Studies University of Toronto © Copyright by Christina Vani 2018 Immortal Words: the Language and Style of the Contemporary Italian Undead-Romance Novel Christina Vani Doctor of Philosophy Department of Italian Studies University of Toronto 2018 Abstract This thesis explores the language and style of six “undead romances” by four contemporary Italian women authors. I begin by defining the undead romance, trace its roots across horror and romance genres, and examine the subgenres under the horror-romance umbrella. The Trilogia di Mirta-Luna by Chiara Palazzolo features a 19-year-old sentient zombie as the protagonist: upon waking from death, Mirta-Luna searches the Subasio region for her love… but also for human flesh. These novels present a unique interpretation of the contemporary “vampire romance” subgenre, as they employ a style influenced by Palazzolo’s American and British literary idols, including Cormac McCarthy’s dialogic style, but they also contain significant lexical traces of the Cannibali and their contemporaries. The final three works from the A cena col vampiro series are Moonlight rainbow by Violet Folgorata, Raining stars by Michaela Dooley, and Porcaccia, un vampiro! by Giusy De Nicolo. The first two are fan-fiction works inspired by Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga, while the last is an original queer vampire romance. These novels exhibit linguistic and stylistic traits in stark contrast with the Trilogia’s, though Porcaccia has more in common with Mirta-Luna than first meets the eye.

  • Deutsche Musik
Udo kennt in Deutschland jeder. Er hat eine Lippe wie Silvester Stallone, trägt immer einen Hut und eine Sonnenbrille und lebt in Hamburg in einem Hotel.

His only chance to fight back is the school swimming carnival - sink or swim in the treacherous waters of Year Seven. High Stakes by Meg Cabot Suze's new life in California is looking up. Cool friends, pool parties, good-hair days, plus the gorgeous ghost, Jesse, who hangs out in her bedroom. Best of all Tad, the cutest (live) boy in town, just asked her out!
