Local News Partnerships LOCAL NEWS PARTNERSHIPS The BBC’s Local News Partnership [LNP] supports established news providers who can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the production of public interest journalism for local or regional audiences, irrespective of size or means of distribution. The project has defined two types of partner – Section One and Section Two Section One partner: Receives free content generated through the News Hub, Shared Data Unit and Local Democracy Reporting Service Section Two partner: Receives free content generated through the News Hub, Shared Data Unit and Local Democracy Reporting Service and employs one or more Local Democracy Reporters More than 600 print, online and broadcast news providers - representing more than 50 operating companies - are currently approved as Section One partners. Full details on how to apply to become a Section One partner and, if applicable, Section Two partner are available here. We know this because Animal Aid and Hillside Animal Sanctuary have placed fly-on- the-wall cameras inside 15 English slaughterhouses and found how workers behave when they think they are not being watched. Andrew Brown discovered his passion for running through a family tragedy. His son, Jake, was set for a career as a professional rugby player when he suffered a severe back injury in 2008. Jack Bretherick, Joe Durkin and Peter Hill. Andrew, 42, an assistant manager at Travis Perkins builders‟ merchants in Batley, said: "He had to give it up completely. It was terrible. That inspired me to run for charity and I became addicted to it." Andrew, of Thornhill Edge, Dewsbury, ran the London Marathon last year in aid of Back Care.

    Page | 1 LIBERAL/LIBERAL DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES IN THE YORKSHIRE AND HUMBERSIDE REGION 1945-2015 Constituencies in the county of Yorkshire (excluding Cleveland and Teesside) INCLUDING SDP CANDIDATES in the GENERAL ELECTIONS of 1983 and 1987 PREFACE A number of difficulties have been encountered in compiling this Index which have not been resolved in an entirely satisfactory manner. Local government boundary changes in the early 1970s led to the creation of the Cleveland and HuMberside Counties. Cleveland and adjacent constituencies have been included in the Index for the North East Region. HuMberside constituencies coMMencing with the General Election of February 1974 are included in the Yorkshire Region. The region has been home to an impressive gallery of party personalities, several of whoM receive extended entries. The spirited independence with respect to LPO HQ in London which the Yorkshire Regional Party has often shown, and the relatively strong direction it has exerted over its constituency associations, would account for the formidable challenge maintained in the Region at successive general elections, even in the direst years of party fortunes. Yorkshire appears to have been rather less willing in 1950 to heed to the dictates of the Martell Plan (see article below) than other regions. Even so, until the 1970s there were several Labour-held Mining and industrial constituencies where the Party declined to fight. InforMation on Many candidates reMains sparse. Overview Trinity Mirror PLC is one of the largest multimedia publishers in the UK. It was formed in 1999 by the merger of Trinity PLC and Mirror Group PLC. In November 2015, Trinity Mirror acquired Local World Ltd, thus becoming the largest regional newspaper publisher in the country. Local World was incorporated on 7 January 2013 following the merger between Northcliffe Media and Iliffe News and Media. From 1 January 2016, Local World was brought in to Trinity Mirror’s centralised system of handling complaints. Furthermore, Editorial and Training Policies are now shared.     REGISTER OF JOURNALISTS’ INTERESTS (As at 14 December 2017) INTRODUCTION Purpose and Form of the Register Pursuant to a Resolution made by the House of Commons on 17 December 1985, holders of photo- identity passes as lobby journalists accredited to the Parliamentary Press Gallery or for parliamentary broadcasting are required to register: ‘Any occupation or employment for which you receive over £760 from the same source in the course of a calendar year, if that occupation or employment is in any way advantaged by the privileged access to Parliament afforded by your pass.’ Administration and Inspection of the Register The Register is compiled and maintained by the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. Anyone whose details are entered on the Register is required to notify that office of any change in their registrable interests within 28 days of such a change arising. An updated edition of the Register is published approximately every 6 weeks when the House is sitting. Changes to the rules governing the Register are determined by the Committee on Standards in the House of Commons, although where such changes are substantial they are put by the Committee to the House for approval before being implemented. Complaints Complaints, whether from Members, the public or anyone else alleging that a journalist is in breach of the rules governing the Register, should in the first instance be sent to the Registrar of Members’ Financial Interests in the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. Where possible the Registrar will seek to resolve the complaint informally. In more serious cases the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards may undertake a formal investigation and either rectify the matter or refer it to the Committee on Standards.

    Section 355 Review of Output Trax FM (Bassetlaw and Doncaster) [] Redacted for publication Publication Date: 16 April 2020 Introduction When a local commercial radio licence undergoes a change of control (this includes licence transfer), Ofcom is required, under section 355 of the Communications Act 2003 (‘the Act’), to undertake a review of the effects or likely effects of the change of control in relation to: • the quality and range of programmes included in the service; • the character of the service, and; • the extent to which Ofcom’s duty under section 314 of the Act is performed in relation to the service. Ofcom’s duty under section 314 of the Act relates to securing the inclusion of an appropriate amount of local material, and a suitable proportion of locally-made programmes in the service. Under section 356 of the Act, where it appears to Ofcom from its review that the change of control would be prejudicial to any of the three matters listed above, then it must vary the licence, by including such conditions as it considers appropriate, with a view to ensuring that the relevant change of control is not so prejudicial. In doing so, any new or varied conditions must be such that the licence holder would have satisfied them throughout the three months immediately before the change of control. Ofcom is required to publish a report of its review, setting out its conclusions and any steps it proposes to take under section 356. Where Ofcom proposes to vary the licence, it is required to give the licence holder a reasonable opportunity to make representations about the variation.
